Peanut Noodles

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2009
This recipe is great, it's quick and the ingredients are usually on hand. As others have noted, you can adjust the recipe to suit your taste, I added garlic and more than tripled the ginger, and increased the red pepper flakes.

Sesame Seared Tuna

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
This was a great recipe, quick and easy, not to mention good. I made as directed except I prefer my tuna well done, so I seared them for 1 1/2 minutes on each side.

Tomato Florentine Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2005
I was pleasantly surprised by this recipe. It was beautiful to look at and taste great. I goofed and put 16 oz of spinach instead of 10, so to balance it out, I added a can of crushed tomoates. As another posted suggested, I substituded ditalini for the macaroni, I also swirled in a tablespoon of butter at the end, for mouth feel, and sprinkled grated parmesan over each serving. This was great, I will make again. Thanks Holly!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2004
This was a pretty good lasagna recipe. I followed it almost to the letter, except I used Italian Turkey sausage, and scaled it down to 6 servings. I think the next time I make it, I'll add a little red wine to the sauce and instead of parsley in the ricotta mixture, I'll add fresh basil.

Southwestern Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2004
This soup was really good. I made a few minor changes, like used Chicken broth, increased the cumin and used both dried and fresh cilantro. I also like the posters idea of serving over crushed tortilla chips. This is definitely a keeper.

Oven Pot Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2004
This recipe was delicious. I used 1 and a half lbs of 7 Bone Pot Roast, and the entire envelope of onion soup mix and the entire can of cream of mushroom soup. I also threw in 3 medium garlic cloves for extra flavor and during the last hour of cooking, I added sliced carrots and quartered potatoes. However, there still wasn't enough sauce for my taste. The next time, I'll make this dish in advance, refrigerate over night, skim off the fat and use the sauce as a base adding more chicken stock and or water and flour to thicken. Also, the salt level was just right. This was one of the best pot roasts I've made to date.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: May 6, 2004
This recipe was good, quick and easy. I used left over roast chicken and since I'm not a big fan of cream, I used half and half and a slurry of water and flour, for thicknesses, and like others kicked up the amount of cajun seasoning. This was really good.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2003
This was very good!! I also used turkey sausage, (the hot kind, not sweet), and sun dried tomatoes, as a previous poster mentioned. Will definitely make it again, but may double the garlic and onions, as the turkey sausage does not pack as much flavor as the Italian sausage.

Betsy's Mandarin Orange Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2003
This was an easy and delicious. I've read other orange salad recipes and one instructed that the onions be soaked in water for an hour and then drained. I may try this next time, to give the onions a milder flavor. This is a keeper!

Southern Living Magazine's Chicken-Fried Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2002
This was a great recipe, it tasted like what I've had in restaurants. However, like the others I used less oil, and for the gravy; I mixed half milk and half beef broth..nice flavor

Chocolate Chip Orange Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2002
This recipe was great, I usually like my breads better the 2nd day, but I ate 5 mini muffins before I knew it, right out of the pan.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2001
The sauce was great, but the meat was extremely chewy and not good at all. I'll definitely try this again with a different grade of beef.

Tomato Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2001
This recipe was excellent. My sister took leftovers to lunch and called me as she was eating it to say how good it was. The only changes I'll make the next time is to decrease the amount of cheese and breadcrumbs to a little over 1/2 cup, I ended up throwing alot of it out after coating the chicken.
