About this Cook
I am a working wife and mother of 3 busy boys, so I am always looking for new, easy recipes for my family. I am the primary meal preparer (about 99% of the time!) so I like to have some variety. I love to bake desserts!!!
My favorite things to cook
Dessert....cakes, cookies, brownies, but I'm not much for pies. I would love , love, love to own my very own bakery someday. Old-fashioned, could've found in your grandma's kitchen-type desserts, only, though! No yeast breads or decorated cakes for me.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas morning we have brunch at my mom's house, which consists of a sausage/egg casserole, mom's special Christmas bread and fresh orange slices. I also love all Mom's comfort foods....beef stew, mashed potatoes, swiss steak...yum!
My cooking triumphs
Last summer I tried my hand at freshly whipped cream for the first time and it turned out fabulously! I also recently made bread all by myself. It was a good experience but nothing I'm itching to do again.
My cooking tragedies
Once as a teenager, I forgot to put the peanut butter in peanut butter cookies, and I couldn't figure out why they didn't smell right while they baked! Luckily I was able to add peanut butter to the rest of the dough before baking.

Angel Chicken Pasta
Love it! We mix together the sauce ingredients on the stove top, then pour them over the chicken breasts in the crock pot. Cooked on low for 4 hours, the chicken is as tender as can be!

Cinnamon Coffee Cake II
This was absolutely fantastic! I omitted the nuts and layered it in thirds in a bundt pan as previously suggested. It turned out perfectly! It got rave reviews from friends and family and have passed along the recipe twice in 2 days! I am going to try to use sugar free pudding, applesauce and egg beaters next time to lower the calorie/fat count. Hoping it will be just as good!

Apple Breakfast Bread
I used some of the previous suggestions, like adding brown sugar, shredding some apples and decreasing the baking time, but in my opinion this bread is nothing special. I baked it only until it tested done, and it was still dry. It needed more apples and more spices. Overall I found it bland and I won't be making it again. My pumpkin and banana bread recipes are too good and this one just doesn't measure up. Definitely disappointing.
