Pasta e Fagioli ala Weeble

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2014
We really enjoyed this flavourful comforting soup. Followed the recipe with the exception of omitting the chili pepper. Next time I will make sure to have some on hand for this dish although it was perfectly delicious without it. I grated some fresh parmesan on top before serving… Big thumbs up.

Polish Kielbasa and Pierogies

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2014
Awesome…and so easy… I was skeptical that this very simple recipe with so few ingredients would turn out well. I did sub turkey kielbasa because that's what I had on hand…. Great weeknight dinner when you are pressed for time.

Apple Hermits

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2014
These cookies are just what I was hoping for. The combination of my favourite spices with the texture of slightly chewy cake is perfect!!! I had to leave out the walnuts due to allergies but can imagine they would be wonderful with the raisins and spices.

Lemon-Basil Quinoa Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2014
I have been cooking with quinoa for some time now, ever since my daughter brought home some leftovers from a restaurant. This dish has such a refreshing flavour with the addition of cranberries and zest of lemon. I wouldn't have thought to add the basil on my own and I was so pleased that it all came together so nicely. I served it with baked lemon chicken and unlike almost every other time I've made quinoa ..there are NO leftovers… Manella..this is delightful.

Apple Crisp Cups

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2014
These little gems are delicious!…I used apple juice in place of the water which was a valuable suggestion from the recipe submitter…thank you weeble! Knowing that my family likes a stronger flavour of cinnamon and nutmeg I added extra… I really wish I had made more because I think they would be great to have on hand in the freezer…they don't last long if left in sight…

Quick and Easy Mini Salsa Pizzas

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2014
This is a perfect recipe for our family… quick and easy and adaptable. I added a few mushrooms for my son and kept my Hubby's as written. Using salsa couldn't be easier as we always have some on the go at our house so it is a faster option that other tomato sauces. If you have a toaster oven this is perfect under the broiler and kid friendly to make. This type of snack is the first thing I ever learned to make as a child. Still love it.

Simply Chocolate Granola

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2014
This is a wholesome chocolatey treat that we absolutely love at our house. I first made this when it was a personal recipe before it became kitchen approved. My daughter loves it as a snack on its own…I add it to my yogurt and cereal for a delicious crunch and we all top our frozen yogurt with it when there is any left. I usually stick to the recipe except for the odd extra handful of chocolate chips. Also I watch the baking time fairly closely as I like it crispy but not overdone. Thank you CC loves to bake… we love your granola.

Adorable…tasty….super easy and quick to prepare… I love these… I used raspberries and white chocolate chips the first time I made these but since then I have experimented with whatever little chocolates I had on hand…. I enjoyed the mint chocolate with the raspberries a lot! Thanks for such a great idea.

Spicy Zucchini Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2014
I had a good feeling about these cookies even before I baked them. The spicy cake like texture combined with oats and in my case the addition of a few mini chocolate chips made for a very good cookie. The cloves are key for me in this recipe…I did add a pinch of salt and tried to squeeze out some moisture from the zucchini…. I wish I made a double batch…. Next time!!!

Quick and Easy Carrot and Chickpea Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2014
This is a lovely chickpea carrot salad. Having a daughter who loves chickpeas, I have made many different salads with them. What makes this salad extra special for us is the addition of fresh parsley to the delicious dressing. I added extra cumin and red onion for personal preference…. This salad is a great example of simple ingredients coming together for a healthy and tasty dish. Manella… thank you for sharing...

Grilled Rosemary Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2014
We loved the blend of rosemary and lemon and garlic for this chicken.. The best part for me was the mustard which I wouldn't have come up with on my own.. Nice juicy chicken breasts on the grill were the result and we paired them with a greek salad…. Excellent! Thanks Semigourmet.

Costa del Sol Barbeque Sauce

This sauce made an excellent partner for the BBQ ribs we had. I enjoyed following this recipe word for word with the exception of omitting the red chili pepper. Next time I will make sure I have all the ingredients on hand. Don knows what he's doing..this was delightful. Look out shrimp…you're next!

Chocolate Banana Smoothie

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2014
After making this recipe a few times I prefer to use a frozen banana and a generous extra bit of chocolate syrup with the milk and skip the ice…the texture is more to our liking this way… chocolate and banana is a classic combination and if you like that you'll like this….

Simple Broiled Haddock

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2014
The spices really appeal to me in this recipe….I was looking to jazz up the haddock filets I had and this fit the bill. For my own tastes I added a bit extra cayenne pepper and used half the butter. Under the broiler my filets were done in 8 minutes with a nice slightly crispy edge… I look forward to making this healthy dish again.
