Ultimate Double Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2006
Very very good. Fairly easy. Maybe a little to much chocolate for me. Be sure to not overbake and do allow to cool on cookie sheet for a few minutes before removing.

Vegetarian Phad Thai

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2006
I have made this several times, and love it. I prefer the flat rice noodle sticks, cut peanut butter to one scant cup, also cut the brown sugar to 3/4 cup, lemon juice to 1/4 cup. I like it spicy to use quite a bit of cheyenne pepper and also serve cilantro with the lime wedges for added garnich. As another reviewer suggested the sauce could be cut in half and still be wonderful.

Spinach Mushroom Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2006
My son and husband raved about this. I thought it was good but not spectacular. I crimped the edges of dough as I could not seem to get the triangle hang-over thing. I am going to make it again soon.

Bacon Mushroom Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2006
I love this recipe. Made it many times. I always add more garlic, mushrooms and cream because it is sooo good over the rice. Leftovers are great also.

Sunday Best Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2006
Baking is my passion. Mine turned out dry and nothing special in the taste. In thinking back I know I followed the recipe to a T so was very disappointed.

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2006
Great easy recipe. I substituted tomato juice and more broth for the tomato sauce and water. I simmered the soup 90 minutes and cooked the pasta in the simmering broth the last few minutes before serving.

Caramel Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2006
These are easy and wonderful. I slightly over cooked the syrup the second time I made these and prefer them to be chewy so will watch my temperature more carefully.

Fried Zucchini

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2007
Much easier and traditional way of frying zucchini. Not for anyone watching calories. I sliced the onion quite thin and will make larger rings next time because it browned faster than the zucchini. I will try butter next time instead of oil and will cut down on the cornmeal and add a little more flour.

Caramel Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2007
Excellent- I followed the exact suggestions made by the professional baker on April 16, 2007. Perfect changes. Making 1 9x13 and 1 8x8 since my kids always come by to take some home. Very rich and delicious.

Super Squash

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2007
I have made this many times and we love it. I have used some zuchinni if my garden is short on yellow squash which also works. At times I freeze some to use later.

Calico Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2007
This is a great recipe. I find it to be even better the next day as the flavors blend. I did not have pimentos but will make sure I do next time.

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2007
Quick easy and wonderful. I thinned it down alot by adding more broth and milk. We prefer a little thinner soup. Next time I will cut way down on the butter and flour. The seasoning packet had more than enough salt so will cut the salt out also.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2007
I enjoyed making this and we really enjoyed eating it, Next time, because we like firm vegetables and thinner sauce, I will steam carrots for 5 minutes, adding uncooked celery and peas to white sauce mixture (thinning it down with a little more broth and milk).

Real Hummus

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2008
This is so good and very easy. I made Peppy's pita bread from this site and made hummus sandwiches for lunch. Will definitely make again and again. I increased the lemon juice to 5 1/2 TBSP and the tihini to 2 1/2 TBSP and blended in the olive oil.

Tortillas II

These are wonderful. Turned out perfect. My only change was to warm the water a little. The first two were mis-shapen so slowed down and made into round disc shapes first before rolling thin. Fast and easy.

Rhubarb Bread I

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2008
I have made this twice this spring and we love it. I add more than twice the amount of rhubarb and almonds instead of walnuts. Definitely take much longer to bake so be patient. Since there is only 2 of us now I half the recipe and make one loaf. Works well.

Mardi Gras King Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2010
This is wonderful to eat and fun to make. I used the cream cheese frosting as was suggested in another review and left out the colors. I baked in my convection oven at 340 degrees for 22 minutes and I will cut down on the time to 20 minutes the next time we enjoy this wonderful cake (pastry).
