Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2013
I made this for our Thanksgiving dinner yesterday, I was afraid that it would come out too "caramel like", but boy was I wrong. I did add 2 tsp of cinnamon to the apples and mixed the sauce with the apples before putting them in the crust, which I had prebaked for a few minutes after brushing with egg white. The only change I would make next time is to cut my apples in larger chunks because they cooked down so much. But I will NEVER make another apple pie recipe again!! Looking forward to making this for Christmas too!

Easy Bake Brisket

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2009
This was wonderful! We used it for sandwiches and we also used it most often for shredded beef tacos, so versatile and very tasty! I cooked it in the oven all day on about 200 degrees.

These are wonderful and just melt in your mouth when still warm. I found that 10 minutes exactly was perfect for them. I cannot wait to try them with chocolate cake mix..

Fried Cabbage II

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2008
For somebody that hates cabbage except in eggrolls and cole slaw, this recipe was amazing, I am only giving it 4 stars because it definately needs an increase in bacon, I actually used I think 6 slices of bacon because its what I had left in a package I was finishing up so I just used all of it. My husband who is not a big veggie eater, let alone cabbage gobbled this up and my mom said to make sure I keep the recipe. This is really great!! Thanks!

I made this, and although it looked very pretty, I made some chocolate covered strawberries and put on top, it didn't taste very good at all :( Thanks for the try though!

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2008
This tastes just like my moms, I will back off by maybe a teaspoon or two of sugar, but it was absolutely wonderful. I just really made the sauce from this recipe, but added green pepper, fried bacon, and quartered cherry tomatoes into the pasta, it was really good, my mom said she liked it better than her own. Thanks for the recipe!

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2008
This tasted just like restaurant style. It was fabulous. however. instead of using all the cornstarch and stuff for the breading on the chicken, I took some advice from Rachael Ray, and I used bisquick, no measurements, just used bisquick, an egg, some milk and some soy sauce, salt and pepper, mixed it together till it was thick enough to make a batter, and then used that to batter the chicken pieces. I only used 2 chicken breasts and there was more than we could eat and my hubby is a BIG eater. It was really good, will definately make again!! Sweet n Sour sauce was a little too sour for my taste, so I added more pineapple juice, and I didn't add the food coloring, so it was just pineapple colored, but it tasted great! Thanks so much for such an awesome recipe!

Fried Rice Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2008
This is SUCH an easy fried rice recipe and easily adaptable for any recipe. I made this this morning to have for dinner tonight alongside sweet n sour chicken, and man, I ate it as my lunch!! Next time I will just make a meal out of it and add some chicken or pork, maybe some shrimp. I shredded the carrots and then blanched them along with the peas. Absolutely fabulous! My husband says its better than the restaurant!! I also used instant rice, this is staying in my recipe book! Thanks!

This was an AWESOME recipe. I added 3 cloves of garlic that I grated and added a dash of sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. This was absolutely amazing and tasted just like Olive Gardens!

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2007
I made this recipe tonight and it was delicious, I only made one change, I don't like mushrooms so I used a can of french onion soup instead of the mushroom soup and I LOVE the flavor of the cream cheese, it is so much better than sour cream, serve it up with some egg noodles and corn and some fresh bread and you got yourself an easy almost mess free meal!! Thank you so much for this recipe!
