About this Cook
i have been happily married for 37 years. i have 3 sons, ages 30, 32 and 35. i live in austin, texas, where i am a kitchen manager at a daycare. we feed 250 children 2 snacks and lunch 5 days a week. i worked for jcpenney for 20 years and retired because i missed enjoying the christmas holiday time with my family.
My favorite things to cook
i love to cook just about anything. baking desserts and breads has always been a favoite of mine. i will try just about any recipe and really love trying new herb and seasoning combinations.
My favorite family cooking traditions
we always make beef stroganoff on christmas eve. my kids, although grown up and gone from home, insist on it still. easter is always lamb.
My cooking triumphs
i baked and decorated an award-winning cake when i was in my twenties. i always seem to receive lot of kudos on my dishes that i take to work for potluck lunches.
My cooking tragedies
too many to count----but if you love to cook and do it a lot you will come up with some failures.

Chicken Salad with Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato
Great easy recipe! My husband loved it. There are so many ways you could add your own touch to it...add some grated cheese, black beans, tortilla shreds, dried fruits. Thanks for sharing.

Emily's Famous Hash Browns
The proportion of onions and potatoes is off. Too much onion and they should be grated. One cup of oil? Wow! Too greasy...and unnecessary. Seasoning the batter would give more flavor throughout. I would not try these again. Sorry.
