Flounder Florentine

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2010
This is an excellent recipe. I did substitute olive oil for the butter but kept everything else the same. I added some garlic at the end of cooking the onions and added a generous sprinkle of Tuscan Sunset blend (Penzey's) to the sauce. I had to prepare this in advance so I could come home a pop it in the oven. I made sure my spinach was very dry and also dried my fillets, which had been frozen. Very, very good. My 14 year old daughter who is "not a fish person" said it was "pretty good" which is high praise from her!

Garlic Parmesan Orzo

A wonderful recipe. I followed the recipe exactly except that I made only 4 servings, and they were 4 very generous servings. It was a great complementary dish to veal piccata!

Pretzel Turtles

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
Made these a few days ago using Dove candies. Instead of using whole pecans, I sprinkled coarsly chopped pecans on the tops before baking and carefully pressed in afterwards. It's a personal preference thing; I think it looks nicer. The taste is awsome!

Fasoliyyeh Bi Z-Zayt (Syrian Green Beans with Olive Oil)

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2007
Great recipe! The only thing I did differently from the recipe is that I cut way back on the olive oil and drizzled just a little over the beans before cooking.

Grilled Chicken Thighs Tandoori

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2007
This recipe was awsome! I was a little leery using cinnamon with chicken but all the spices worked wonderfully together. I saved a bit of the marinade and briefly marinated a "veggie chicken cutlet" just before grilling for my vegetarian daughter and that turned out well, too. Served the chicken thighs with Fasoliyyeh Bi Z-Zayt (Syrian Green Beans with Olive Oil) also from this site, and some plain rice for a really great meal. Wouldn't change a thing about the recipe.
