About this Cook
The kitchen is my favorite room in the home. It's my kitty's favorite room too since he gobbles up the food that drops before I can pick it up, even veggies! Cooking for people is my way of showing that I care. My neighbors tell me that I make them hungry because of the smells that come from my apartment into the hallway :)
My favorite things to cook
My favorite food to cook is comfort food. The kind that fills you up and of course is full of calories.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving when my family has a full spread of Ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, cole slaw, corn, biscuits, baked beans and lots of pies. Doesn't matter if there is only 6 or the whole extended family, the whole spread is there.
My cooking triumphs
My baked beans are always requested at work, as well as my 7 layer nacho dip and veggie pizza. But the credit for my triumphs goes to the recipes and reviewers from this site. Most of the recipes I modify to taste of what I think the people would like and wah la... the food is always gone!!
My cooking tragedies
The first time I made lasagna, it turned out awful. I forgot to add a little sugar to the homemade tomato sauce, oops! :)

Broccoli Ham Ring
Well I modified this quite a bit but it still turned out great. Didn't have any lemons or broccoli. I didn't have green onions but used what I had left of a white onion (about 1/4c diced). Also didn't have swiss cheese so I used cheddar. I added chopped mushrooms, sorry didn't measure them, and chopped up the remainder of a yellow pepper. I cut the dijon down to 1 tbsp and added 1/2 c miracle whip light to the mix. Used dry parsley. Seasoned it with salt, pepper, and a pinch of garlic powder. We loved it!
