The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2012
I didn't have good luck with this recipe. The dough was too sticky, so by adding a ton of extra flour I lost the sweet flavor of the cookie. I saw someone suggested using powdered sugar instead of flour; if I make these again I'll try that.

Russian Black Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2012
I followed the directions as written, and even measured the temperature of my water, but the bread came out under-baked. My bread machine has settings for 1.5 lb and 2 lb loaves. I used the 2lb setting. Maybe if I had a different kind of bread machine it would've worked better?

Perfect Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
The brining was kind of a pain, but well worth the effort. Very moist turkey! I got lots of compliments on it.

Beefy Tomatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2011
Not terrible, but not great. I won't make these again. They're too time-consuming for just a mediocre result.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
Delicious! It was even good later reheated. Usually I don't like leftover meat, but this was still so good 4 days later!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
Great flavor and very moist. I used 2 cups of sugar and 1/2 oil, 1/2 applesauce as other suggested.

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
It was as good as any chocolate frosting I've had. I think I'm just not a fan of this type of frosting. It was too sweet for my taste. I was hoping for something fudgier. This was like a chocolate buttercream frosting.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
This was a really good cake. To be perfectly honest though, it wasn't all that much better than a box mix. I used boiling coffee instead of water, and it didn't have a strong coffee flavor, which was good.

Gluten Free Honey-Peanut Butter Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2011
These taste pretty good, but they didn't stick together very well. Maybe I didn't mix the ingredients enough, but if I make them again, I'll either increase the corn syrup/sugar mixture, or use less cereal. The flavor kind of reminds me of Special K bars!

Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
It tasted fine, but it wasn't all that much better than just using egg and milk.

Apple Crisp III

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2011
The flavor in this recipe is just too simple. It tastes like apples covered in butter and sugar. It needs more depth of flavor. I don't know exactly what would make it better, but I won't bother making this again.

Zucchini-Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2011
I was looking for a muffin with hidden veggies to help my 3-year-old get all her servings. Even though she saw me put the zucchini in and told me that she doesn't like it, once one of these yummy muffins was in front of her, she changed her mind! I did use about half whole wheat flour and half white flour. I also substituted applesauce for most of the oil. Great muffins!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Really good! I followed others' suggestions about using poultry seasoning and garlic. I used leftover turkey breast instead of chicken and it turned out fine.

Mom's Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2011
I thought these were too salty. The texture was good, although my husband complained that they were gooey in the middle. If I make these again, I'll only use 1/2 tsp. salt, and add 1 Tbs. of sugar.

I couldn't believe how good these turned out! I made the recipe exactly as written and they were delicious! I don't think I'll ever make any other sloppy joe recipe.

Zucchini Brownies

I didn't have enough cocoa powder left to make the frosting, but these are still soooo good even without it!

Cola Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
We grilled these instead of baking them. Next time I will bake them as per the recipe. It's a good flavor sauce though! *I tried these again and I LOVED them baked. I'm not a huge pork chop fan, but these are really good!

Chicken Chipulos

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
I didn't make enough cooked chicken, so I left out the cream of mushroom soup. I didn't want it to be too runny. Also, I layered it like tortilla pie instead of tearing up the tortillas. My husband really liked this. I thought it was fairly good. I will make this again.

Chicken Diablo

Reviewed: May 27, 2010
I followed the recipe to a T, but the sauce was horrible. Luckily I was able to scrape most of it off before cooking and the chicken breasts were salvageable. I do not recommend this recipe AT ALL!
