Bierox Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2014
We felt it needed more bread. I think I will try cooking a layer of crescent rolls on the bottom and the add the meat mixture and top with another container of crescent rolls.

Curry Stand Chicken Tikka Masala Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2014
This recipe has the best flavortex that I have come across. Other recipes don`t seem to blend the flavors as well. I followed the recipe as it is here but with one change; I doubled the sauce ingredients.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2014
There was something off on this that only was enhanced as a left over. I used salsa instead of tomato sauce because I didn't have the chilis. Next time I will substitute broth for the beer.

Chili I

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2014
The addition of balsamic vinager was something my chili's had been missing. I used balsamic instead of white. I also added cumin, turmeric and unsweetened chocolate.

Marinated Flank Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2014
This turned out well for a grill recipe for flank steak. Use balsamic vinaigrette instead. I originally made it with the wine vinaiger and after tasting the marinade I added the balsamic. I did not have dijon mustard but I chose a horseradish mustard over a spicy brown mustard. It received many complements. Thank you.

Slow Cooker Baked Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2014
This was a pretty good recipe but it was super sweet. I added some liquid smoke to mellow the sweetness some. It seemed to work.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2014
This is a wonderful marinade. I used bacon ranch and it was great. I didn't know how the Worcestershire sauce would go with the ranch but thought it was excellent. I am one of the very rare people who does not like rosemary so I used oregano and basil instead. I did not add pepper, salt or sugar because I thought the dressing probably had enough sugar and salt and sometimes pepper can be too over powering.

Creamy Zucchini and Spinach Rigatoni

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2014
My family liked this recipe. Pretty simple if you have the ingredients. I did not have the cream cheese or the spinach. I don't think I will use the cream cheese in the future. It did not need it. Shredded carrots might be a nice addition. I added cooked chicken to make it a one dish meal.

Slow Cooker Chili II

Reviewed: May 11, 2014
To me finding a good chili recipe is difficult. Many are missing something making them lack a fullness in the flavor. This is not a spicy recipe. I like that because I have small kids and I think so many recipes cover the fact that they are missing the full flavor by being spicy. "Dull the tastebuds so it seems good". This is nice the way it is or add to it.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2014
This turned out well. I will probably follow other reviewers suggestions of increasing the cheese. I used left over mashed potatoes to thicken the soup in the place of corn starch. I will do that again. Because I have dietary problems with milk, half & half, cream and sour cream... I will probably try yogurt in the future (made it with out the milk this time).

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2014
I used this for Bierocks. It was too sweet and I even reduced the amount of sugar. I will make it again as a loaf of bread but I will still decrease the sugar.

Eggplant Parmesan Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2014
This was tasty. I had to make a few changes because I did not have all the ingredients. I added artichoke hearts as I was short one eggplant and I will probably make that change permanent for future times. I also sliced the eggplant more thinly because I needed to get 10 slices from one eggplant. I feel this helped with folding them in half. I also added chicken to the marinara sauce. I was looking for more of a all in one baked dish. In the future I will decrease the marinara sauce as it was too much for me. I found this took longer to cook and prep than estimated but I find most recipes take longer than stated. This will be one I cook again and again.

Spaghetti Squash I

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2014
We really loved this recipe. So much that I bought another on my next visit to the store. I have been told spaghetti squash was just like spaghetti. Not quite... I could not see how that was possible so I was not expecting it to be just like spaghetti. I was so pleasantly surprised by this dish. I had to make some alterations. I did not have fresh basil so I used cilantro. That added a pleasant zip to the flavor in my opinion. I also had a jar of artichoke hearts on hand and I added those but forgot the cheese. Turns out it did not need the cheese and I am looking forward to making this again. The next time I make this, I will increase the garlic to either 2 or 3 cloves. I noticed that I missed the garlic flavor when I was eating this and when I had it again for left overs. Very good.

Slow-Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2014
This was my first corned beef attempt. It turned out great. There was so much flavor from just the meat and the season package it come with (I did not add beer). Because of the mixed reviews on time I decided to cook it on high for 8 hours as recommended. It was super easy to remove the extra fat and the meat was tender. Because I work full time I had to put the veggies in for the whole time. They were pretty soft but were still in their original shape and even held up for left over re-heatings. I have added this to my recipe box and do intend to make it again.

I did not like this recipe. I cut the pepper in half and there was still too much. Other than the pepper, there was not much other flavor.

Grilled Fish Steaks

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2014
This was so flavorful. I only had tilapia so I used it on that. The fish was so moist. The salt was a little high so I will cut it back next time I use this. My young son (3 1/2 years) also loved it.

Accidental Fish

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2014
I thought this would have more flavor based on some of the reviews. I even doubled the garlic. My husband and son liked it but I was disappointed in what I felt was a lack of flavor. I will need to figure out something to add to it.
