Homemade Sweet Italian Sausage (Mild or Hot)

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2014
This is a fantastic recipe. I halved the recipe and the only changes I made was I used fresh parsley and white sugar. These are moist and flavorful.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2014
Great easy recipe. The only additions I did we're I used some olive oil on outside of chicken (to me butter just melts off) but I did use butter too. I also added rosemary and parsley under skin of chicken.

Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2014
My dogs loved these. One was barking at me while a batch was cooking, as if to say "hurry up and give me a treat! " I omitted the salt.

Warm Crab Parmesan Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2014
I enjoyed this recipe and received no complaints for others who tried it. I did use canned crab meat not fresh. I also used reduced fat cream cheese, sour cream and mayo. This is a keeper for me.

Pumpkin Apple Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
I am conflicted on this recipe. The batter is very thick and sadly the final result made a dense doughy muffin. The flavor though was good, I would double the pumpkin spice though. Then amount of sugar is a bit much, reduce it for less sweetness. I did find the muffin a bit sweet but I was okay with that. I liked the streusel topping but again it's mostly sugar. Not sure if I will make again due to it being so dense, I like fluffy muffins.

I didn't enjoy these and neither did my husband. We both thought they were tasteless which is odd considering the amount of garlic.

Chef John's Breakfast Sausage Patties

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2014
Yum. This is a great breakfast patty recipe. I followed the recipe except for the orange zest which I didn't have. I subbed orange marmalade. Will make this often.

Grilled Garlic Parmesan Zucchini

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2013
Good recipe. I liked the flavor but the zucchini was to soft for my preference. I think next time I will just broil rather than grill. I grilled on my george forman grill and the butter did melt away. After I grilled it I broiled until cheese was slightly brown.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2013
These are fantastic. My husband loved them and so did our guests. I followed recipe 99%. The one thing I did do that a review recommended was I mixed the butter, brown sugar and cinnamon all together and then spread that on the dough. I didn't have an issue with the filling dripping to the bottom either. Thanks for a great recipe, one that I need to go work off now. :)

I enjoyed this but I thought it lacked flavor. It is very simple and was easy to make.

Baba Ghanoush

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2013
This was very good. I would have liked a more garlic flavor and added some garlic powder after making it and I just wasn't getting the garlic flavor I wanted. I thought this was an easy recipe to make which pleased me very much. I will definitely make this again but add more garlic at the beginning. I may even roast garlic while roasting the eggplant.

Banana Wake-Up Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2013
Good recipe. I thought it was a bit flavorless and the oats didn't cook completely. I used flax seed instead since that is what I had, otherwise kept every as per the recipe. If I make this again I will add some cinnamon and nutmeg and do as others recommended, soak or toast the oats.

Breakfast Sausage

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2013
Great recipe. I am happy to find a recipe that I can now make my own breakfast sausage and no longer have to buy them. I used all the recipe measurements when it came to the seasonings but I did only use 1 lb of meat. I like flavor so this was perfect for me. I did add a pinch of garlic powder and cinnamon to the mixture as well. Other than that no changes.

Apple Strudel Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2013
These are great. I had to make a few changes due to not enough ingredients. I used 1 1/4c flour and 3/4 c whole wheat flour. I also added some cinnamon and nutmeg to the dry ingredients. I used granny smith apples, one I chopped the other I coarsely grated. Sugar - I used 1/4 c brown sugar then the rest white. My muffin pans I think are on the smaller size (they are about 20 years old) so I got 15 muffins.

Cinnabon® Cupcakes

Reviewed: May 2, 2013
Maybe I shouldn't have made these on a rainy day. I would give 3 stars but since I didn't make the frosting I will give 4 (I don't want to get punished for not rating the whole thing) Anyway, the cupcake is okay in the tasty department. I am sure if I made the frosting it would all work great together. I thought I left enough rising room for the cupcakes but I didn't so they cooked over giving that flat top. I also sprayed my pans with baking spray and even doing this the cupcakes were so sticky that many made it out of the pans broken.(frowns) Since they were such a mess this is why I didn't make the frosting. I liked the flavor of the syrup but as another reviewer pointed out the brown sugar doesn't melt down, you end up with a buttery sugary crunchy syrup. I am just going to eat them with the crunchy syrup on the cupcakes and call these my mock no fry churros.

Valentino's Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2013
I love this recipe for many reasons. My biggest ones though are it's easy and fast! I have made others and I do love them but I hate waiting for them to rise. This one is so easy and you are putting your pizza in the oven in 15 minutes. I did bake my pizza on a pizza stone and it came out fantastic. This is great recipe for a quick dinner or one of those days when you all of a sudden want pizza.

Good recipe. I only used 1 cup of flour and these were still very cakey brownies. I omitted the nuts and added cacao nibs instead.

Old Fashioned Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2013
This was very good and moist. I did follow the directions, whipping the yolks and whites separate. If you do this step this will give your cake fluff and keep it moist. I did omit the second round of butter, added 1/4 cup of reserved pineapple juice to the already whipped yolks, and reduced the 1 cup of sugar to 1/2 cup. I also added a tablespoon of sour cream to the already whipped yolks as well. Baked in a 13x9 pan for 30 minutes and it was perfect.
