Tiny Pecan Tarts

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2013
These are delicious. Followed the recipe as written. However, as others have stated, have lots of leftover filling. So, I guess I'll just have to make more dough, for more tarts! :-) Used an ungreased non-stick mini muffin pan, and it worked great. Definitely a keeper!

Danish Kringle

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2012
This is delicious! I've been wanting to make this for a long time. After a messy first round and following other reviews, this is what I did. Using food processor, pulsed the butter & flour together until it looked like crumbs. Than I added in sour cream plus 2 tsp almond extract. Chilled dough overnight. Rolled dough (made 3 braids) out onto floured parchment. Rolled it thin. Used pizza cutter to make slits, just short ones. When braiding, the slits are only on top and the sides are solid, so the filling does not ooze out. Brushed with egg white and sprinkled Swedish pearl sugar on top (in place of icing glaze), then bake. Used canned pie fillings, apricot, cherry, black raspberry. One can fills 2 braids. Family loved this, making a bunch for xmas and freezing.

I did not care for this recipe. A normal pb&J is much better.

Chicken and Broccoli Braid

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2012
I thought this was good, but my kids did not like it. I omitted dill & onion for family and used 2 cloves garlic, 1/4 tsp thyme and a yellow pepper instead of red. I lightly sauteed the broccoli, garlic, and pepper first as other reviewers suggested. Next time I will leave out the pepper, maybe the kids will like it better.

Jagerschnitzel

This was delicious! The kids loved it too, but ate it withouth the gravy. Served it with spaetzle. The gravy would not thicken up, so I added some flour mixed with water, and that fixed the problem.

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2012
This was really good, even my picky kids liked it. I made a half batch, and used 2 cups of diced ham. Also added french fried onion rings in last 5 minutes of cooking.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2011
Delicious! Slight changes, only used 1 tsp salt in the sauce and none in the ricotta. Used only ground beef and no sausage, because I'm not a fan of it. I had some leftover sauce after assembling, and it was still very saucey (not dry) and cheesy. So we'll have extra sauce to put on teh leftovers heated up. This was so good, and we are very picky!

Tomato Pie II

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2011
This was really good! Ended up using less basil, because I thought it seemed like too much. I forgot to peel the tomatoes. It was alright anyway, but would have been better if they were peeled. My husband & kids were teasing me as I was making this, because they thought it sounded gross. But in the end, they liked it.

This was pretty good. I left out the onion for my husband and used 1/2 tsp pepper and 1/4 tsp salt. Even the kids liked it. Will add raisins next time.

Sturdy Whipped Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2011
Not bad, was more cream cheese frosting than whipped cream frosting. Not too sweet. It wasn't really what I was looking for for the cake I made. However, it would be good on carrot cake. Also, too much almond flavor... either cut in half or omit.

Seven Layer Taco Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
This was pretty good. Took it to a party and it disappeared. I put it in a 7x11 dish, should have used a bigger dish. The bean:sour cream ratio seemed off, next time add another can of beans/seasoning.

Green Peas Supreme

This was really good, although I made some changes. I used purchased crumbled bacon and onion powder in place of pearl onions, only because my husband hates onions. May try adding some fresh mushrooms or asparagus to the mix.

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
I am only rating the sauce. Rather than coating & deep frying the chicken, I stir fried it so it would be more healthy. So I didn't really follow the whole recipe. The sauce was ok, I may try looking for another recipe. Don't try Sweet and Sour Chicken III from this site, it's terrible.
