Extreme Chocolate Cake with Fresh Raspberry Sauce
About this Cook
I have been vegetarian for more than 11 years. So, I really enjoy trying new vegetarian recipes; however, I also cook for my family, who are meat-eaters, very often. When I was first introduced to the kichen, baking was my specialty, but now that I am older, I really enjoy the stovetop!
My favorite things to cook
Soups, Potatoes, Vegetarian dishes, Tacos, and pretty much anything else. I like to cook with unique veggies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up eating very traditional meat and potato dinners. My mom always made dinner from scratch, and I plan on doing the same when I have a family of my own. I believe that cooking with love is incredibly important.
My cooking triumphs
I made my first pie, a raspberry pie with a lattice top, at the age of 12. Since then, I have mastered cinnamon raisin bread and the perfect pie crust. I have also been making homemade gingerbread houses since I was very young. My Mom even had cookie cutters made for this tradition!
My cooking tragedies
I can't quite figure out the filling for a cherry pie. Perhaps I have been adding too much almond extract or maybe I need to try fresh, not frozen, baking cherries. Any tips?

French Silk Chocolate Pie I
I made this recipe, and the flavor was good, but the filling was very dense after sitting in the refrigerator. Any idea why? Perhaps I over beat the eggs?

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes
This recipe is great. I do a few things a little bit differently. I dice the onions and add them to the saucepan after making the rue. Once they start to turn clear, I add the milk. I also use a half cup of extra cheddar cheese and about 2 ounces of grated Parmesan. Absolutely delicious. Also agree with others that you should double the sauce recipe.

Cinnamon Raisin Bread I
Made this recipe for the first time in 06. I've made it a few times since, but today I only had 1 pack of yeast. I halved the recipe (1 egg + 1 yolk), and it turned out great! I was able to make 2 smaller loaves. The only part of the recipe that I didn't half was the cinnamon sugar. Next time I might even add more! Such a great, easy recipe!!!
