These biscuits were really yummy. I did half with milk choc chips and the other half with white choc chips and they both turned out really good, kids loved them. Thanks for sharing :)

Maple Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
I just baked these and they are delicious! I love maple syrup and it gave the shortbread that extra flavour. I also thought the dough was a bit more like a batter so I just added more flour so it was a bit more manageable to shape into balls. As the other reviews had said it wasn't sweet enough, I added a little sugar to the butter whilst creaming, about a teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a tad more maple syrup than the recipe called for. I also sprinkled some demerara sugar over them before they went in the oven. I knew they would be good as the smell from the oven was fantastic. Will definitely make these again! Thanks :)

Slow Cooker Barbeque

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
This recipe is FANTASTIC! I made this for a bbq we were having on the weekend and I sliced the beef instead of shredding and served it in crispy hotdog rolls. Just delicious and everyone commented on how tender and nice it was. You didn't need anything else in the roll but the meat. I used topside roast beef and a whole bottle of bbq sauce and just kept basting it thru the day. A great recipe to do for when people are coming over to watch a game and you don't want to be stuck in the kitchen the whole time. Thanks for the recipe :)

Grandma's Moist Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
This cake is fantastic! My kids and I made it and they loved it. I did do a few things differently that was recommended by a viewer (Mandy W) in another yellow cake recipe. She recommended using cake flour and when you measure it, sift the flour into the measuring cup and then level it off (this makes the cake more dense). She then also suggested creaming the butter, sugar & flour together then pour in the milk/egg mixture. Also the cold ingredients should be at room temp when using. I din't have cake flour so I looked up how to substitute it, and it says to every 1 cup of cake flour, use 1 cup of unbleached plain (all purpose) flour and then take 2 tablespoons out. I also ended up baking the cake in 2 round tins and freezing one. I also had a little trouble with timing too, I think because I only used 2 cake tins, so it took longer than the 15-20mins stated. I also left it plain as it didn't need icing. It came out moist and dense, just as I was hoping. I may try it using self raising flour next time to compare the difference. Will definitely bake again and am even thinking of using this for my sons birthday cake. Thank you for a great recipe :)

Mini Cheesecakes

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
This is a fantastic recipe & so easy! I reduced the quantities as I only wanted to make 24 and I used vanilla bean paste instead of extract and put about 2 tablespoons of maple syrup just cause I love maple syrup. I also put sliced fresh sweet strawberries that I marinated in a little balsamic vinegar for about an hour just to make them even more sweeter and they were absolutely delicious! They were so little that they were just one mouthful of pure delight. It was like having a chocolate or something. I also tried a few using strawberry waffers and they went really well with the fresh strawberries. Somehow I managed to have a couple left over and they were even better the next day. I have made these twice now and it most definitely will not be the last...thank you for this recipe :)

Classic Vanilla Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2008
This was excellent! I have never made icing like this before and I'm glad I gave it a try. I used it on top of a chocolate cake and they went really well together. I used vanilla paste instead of the extract which gave it the look of homemade vanilla bean ice-cream. Will make again, thanks for the great recipe. :)

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
This is now the way I cook beef strog. I still use sour cream though and add some powered beef stock to the water and also add some freshly chopped mushrooms. I also use oyster(blade) steak and it is always so tender. Thanks for the great recipe :)

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
This is my all time fav recipe for salmon and everyone who tastes it loves it. It tastes even better if you cook it on the bbq. I have even used this marinade on lamb cutlets and they too taste fantastic. Thanks for the recipe :)
