I LOVE to BBQ. I'm always looking for new ideas for the grill. I also love to bake and make confections.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Comfort food! I have fond memories of my mom's cooking. I remember looking forward to whatever she was making for dinner and the house always smelled wonderful!
My cooking triumphs
Candy making! It takes a lot of patience, but the results are well worth it! I recently mastered the art of tempering chocolate and it's well worth the effort!
My cooking tragedies
Lasagna! I cooked a lasagna for about 12 out of towners and when I went to season my sauce with hot pepper flakes, the cap fell of and the whole jar of flakes ended up in the sauce. I tried to scoop as much of it out as I could......but boy was it HOT!!!

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic
This was really good. Hubby and I both enjoyed it. I didn't bother with the flour and was worried that the sauce would be runny, but it wasn't. The only thing I would do differently next time is double the sauce and mushrooms (It was sooo good). A great recipe that is simple to make, thanks!

Chocolate Chip Cheesecake I
This was a fantastic cheesecake. Not too sweet and not too tart. It was perfect. I wasn't sure how the sweetened condensed milk would taste, but it made the cheesecake nice and creamy. I melted the chocolate chips and mixed it into the batter only because I wanted it to have a smooth texture. I placed a pan of hot water in the oven while it was baking and no cracks! I will definitely be making this again!
