Creamy Slow Cooker Potato Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2005
Seemed like an awful lot of work for a slow cooker meal. Flavor was okay, but it was too thick for my taste and my family had one bowl apiece. How disappointing after all the time spent prepping. :-(

Greek Style Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2006
I thought this recipe was very tasty. I made it just as directed. Next time though, for my own preference, I will cut the water to half, as well as the thyme and rosemary. I prefer the potatoes to be more lemony than anything else. I'll probably use 1/2 cup of lemon juice too. Over all, I enjoyed them and will use this recipe again. Thanks!

Easy Caramelized Onion Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2006
This is a very good recipe for pork chops. I am always afraid of them turning out tough, but these came out tender and had great flavor. The only things I will do differently next time will be to add more onion (one onion cooked down to about 4 tbsp) and less water. It took FOREVER for it to evaporate. I ended up draining off part after 50 minutes of cooking. Thanks for the great recipe!

Quick and Easy Green Chile Chicken Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2006
Simple and tasty! I made this one with canned chicken in the camper to save another step and everyone wanted the recipe. Best part was that it only took one pan and made clean up a snap. It's mild and very kid friendly. Thanks!

Artichoke Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2006
This was good, but I felt like it was lacking something. So I added fresh baby spinach to the pasta right before I poured the sauce on. I think maybe next time I will saute some fresh garlic with the onions and mushrooms.

Pan-Fried Asparagus

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2006
This is the only way I like asparagus anymore. I cut the cut time in half though, because I like mine a little crisp.

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2006
This was pretty tasty, but very rich. You have to really like artichokes to enjoy this one! I added bread crumbs to the top, but otherwise made it as directed. It was great with linguine. I ate kalamata olives with mine, to make it feel more Greek.

Restaurant-Style Hashbrown Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2006
This is a really easy recipe and turns out great. I prefer it with cream of celery, but either way is delicious!

Porcupines

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2006
These were pretty good. I used instant rice because I wanted to be sure it would be cooked and not hard. This tasted a lot like meatloaf balls, and my family enjoyed them.

Broccoli Salad II

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2007
This was a very easy dressing to make, but I thought it was a little sweeter than some broccoli salads I've tasted. I added more wine vinegar until it was a bit more tangy the way I like it. Overall though, it got great reviews and there weren't any leftovers. Thanks!

Chicken Breasts in Caper Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2007
The family all ate it and said it was good, but I still felt like something was missing in the cream sauce. Will probably make it again and try to adjust the sauce to our taste.

This soup was very tasty. I made it on the stove because I waited to long to start it, but followed all the ingredients and it turned out great. Thanks.

Company Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2007
This was good. The only thing I changed was to use two cans of cream of celery rather than a cream of potato.

Cabbage Hamburger Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2007
We love cabbage rolls in our family, so I thought this would be an easy substitute. I changed the recipe a bit by cooking my rice first in beef broth and adding it to the hamburger before layering. I think it was a nice addition. The taste was alright overall. My boyfriend said it has "potential". I think next time I try this I will use tomato sauce rather than the soup, as it seemed to give a sweet taste I didn't want.

Easy Olive Martini Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2007
This was very good and smelled great while I was cooking it. I changed the directions a tiny bit and added the garlic while I browned the chicken. I also took the advice of others and doubled the amount of sauce. I served this over penne pasta and it was a hit. The kids ate it without a complaint even though the sauce has a strong flavor. One of the kids wouldn't eat the olives, but they were easy enough to pick out. Thanks for the great recipe!

Irish Beef Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
This was very good and smelled great when we walked through the door! My only changes were that we didn't add parsnips or potatoes and ate it with mashed potatoes instead. I did add quite a bit of salt when I added the thickener, as it wasn't salty at all. Definitely a keeper!

Soy Sauce Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2007
I thought this was okay. I felt like it was lacking something... I think next time I may add water chestnuts and mandarin oranges to play up the stir fry taste a little more.
