I'm only 17, but I've been cooking for as long as I can remember. My family is originally from Georgia, but my father was a United States Army colonel and we got moved around a lot. I am currently living in Virginia and about to start my senior year in high school ( as of Fall 06). I grew up cooking southern foods, but having lived in so many different places, I've acquired the taste and ability to cook from a myriad of different cultures.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking southern food, it reminds me of home and thats what I love about food. I like that no matter where you are, you can make a bowl of mashed potatoes and have anyone feeling at home.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family doesnt really have many cooking traditions but I guess you could say the tradition is "Have her cook"
My cooking triumphs
I'm taking a culinary class at my high school and we cook, serve and sell our food to the public, like an in school restaurant. Being able to have a function and cook and serve the food but also have the food made WELL is an accomplishment that I'll never take for granted.
My cooking tragedies
I cant say that I've had many tragedies but I think tragedies are what makes a chef. So as much as I know theyre going to suck, I'm kinda excited to figure out what I'll screw up on first.
