Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2006
This was a great recipe. I also used "Basic Flaky Pie Crust" and it turned out great. The only thing I did was I made mini tarts in muffin tins. These looked better, and they were so cute and petite! Although it takes more effort to make them, they're worth it1

Shirazi Salad

This is a traditional dish that all Persians have had in their lifetime. The only thing missing is chopped mint, which brings the whole dish together!

Persian Cucumber Yogurt (Maast-o Khiar)

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2006
I am Persian also, and I agree that Maast-o-Khiar can not be forgotten in any meal. A tip for anyone making this is if don't use garlic. Garlic makes the dish taste a little less tasty. Also, the tradition is to use a grater to grate the cucumbers, not to cube them! Just thought I would share with everyone.

Skin-on Savory Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2006
I freaked out when I saw this recipe because I didn't know how much 2 lb of potatoes was. I used a kitchen scale, and 2 lb of potatoes is approximately 8 medium-sized potatoes. This recipe is very delicious and creamy. Definitely reccomended! Update: I usually do not have garlic in the house so I often add garlic powder or garlic salt and taste test to see how much is necessary

I didn't really know what this was supposed to taste like or even look like so I can't exactly give it a proper review, but it didn't taste good at all.

Polvorones de Canele (Cinnamon Cookies)

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2006
This is an overall good recipe because it does not require milk or eggs, both of which I don't have in my fridge at the moment. There needs to be a bit more flour in the recipe, and the cinnamon sugar mixture should be cut in half. Other than these two small problems, the cookies are great.

Creamy Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2006
Delicious, Delicious, Delicious! I can't say that enough to describe how this banana bread tasted. I would never have expected cream cheese to be in the recipe. But the bread tasted moist, light, and fluffy. Just the way I like it! I changed two things, though. One thing I changed was instead of using pecans I used walnuts. Another thing was I added the walnut, cinnamon, and brown sugar mixture to the batter. That was an accident because I read the instructions wrong, but it still came out great. It was odd though because the batter I put in the 8x4 loaf pan never really seemed to bake completely. I put the rest of the batter in another baking pan, and that baked fine. But, it was still great, and everyone loved it. Thanks for a teriffic recipe!

Snickerdoodle Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2006
This recipe didn't taste anything like a snickerdoodle, or even a snickerdoodle bar. It came out tasting like a not moist sponge cake, but it was ok. I hope it turns out better next time if I make it.

Watermelon Cookie

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2006
This was the BEST RECIPE EVER! I made your cookies, and not only do they look good, they taste good. There were a few things I did differently 1)Instead of the green icing I took some dough, added green food coloring to it, and wrapped it around the red dough 2)Added more food coloring, so it is a brighter color. 3)Since I didn't hvae chocolate chips, I cut a small piece of chocolate into smaller pieces. I only put them on some cookies, even though you could barely taste them in the end 4)I used a funnel as a cookie cutter Those weren't really necessary, but just thought I would share. Everyone who ate the cookies loved them. Thanks for a great recipe. It was a big hit!

Persian Fesenjun

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2006
I am Persian, and while I was recently talking to my mother about recipes, I let her know this one came through my e-mail. When I let her know, she was just dying to know how to make it! She knows all the recipes such as Ghorme Sabzi and Gheime Badenjoon but she didn't know how to make this. Anyhow, there is too much pomegrante sauce in the recipe. She tells me it is only supposed to be one or two tablespoons. That might be why some are complaining about their food tasting funny. I just thought I would share!

It's good even if you don't mix it with the electric mixer. And I added more butter and milk so it tastes creamier.
