Army SOS Creamed Ground Beef

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2006
This is the best when you need to whip up something fast but it's a little bland, my boyfriend adds a little hot sauce to his just to add some spice to it. It's good served over rice or toast too.

Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2006
This recipe is Very good but with everything that's put into it, it's definantly a once in a while meal with the amount of fat and calories that are in it. We served w/ garlic bread.

I didn't have shallots but it still was a 5 star. My b/f said if this had chicken it'd surpass his favorite pasta dish anytime.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2006
Absolutly the best Banana bread you could make for yourself and your friends!! It makes a big enough batch for you to make a loaf for yourself and a couple to give away to others (make sure you treat yourself with your own loaf...it's really just that good!)Also I made my last batch (I make it once a month now) with one less banana for my b/f who hates banana anything and he loved the bread.

Cousin Cosmo's Greek Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2007
This dish was very good we've served it both with rice and egg noodles, and both are just as good. The sauce is very thin and very good but if you would like it to act more of a sauce than a broth you may need to add a couple more tablespoons of flour. The spinach and tomatoes are best left to throw in last. My family loved the chicken and i being a vegetarian threw in extra spinach and a few other vegetables and its flavor was delicious!! **I did add a little punch of minced garlic** (we're garlic lovers though...i'm sure it's just a good with out it). Enjoy...don't forget to have extra toothpicks handy to grab incase you can't get the chicken to stay closed!

The Best Zucchini Fritters Ever

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2007
These lacked flavor!!!! They held together well and cooked well but even after adding minced garlic, paprika, cayenne pepper, and extra salt and pepper these fritters still were missing something. The family ate them all but agreed they needed something to help them down...everyone tried a little of everything with them to help the blandness of these fritters...syrup, barbque sauce, and ranch dressing. I won't be making this recipe again. It was a fun try though.

Ultimo's No-Bake Blueberry Squares

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2007
If you're wanting your guests to rave over your dish...well then this is the one to serve. It was received with everyone taking 2nds, 3rds, and 4ths of these refreshing mouth quenchers. I did only add 3/4's of a cup of sugar to the filling as suggested by another member and I used the 4 tablespoons of butter in the crust along with baking the crust for 8 min. at 350 degrees which made the crust hold together very nicely. I did only have 2 cups of blueberries and it still turned out very nice..in fact i think it was better with only 2 cups because you were able to enjoy the filling itself a little better and those who even didn't like blueberries enjoyed this treat!! This will definently go into one of my favorites!

Blueberry Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2007
This bread is awesome the first time i made it, it made 5 little loaves and well let's just say i only got the chance to give 1 away (I ate the rest!!!) They're delicious. I know it may sound like an odd combination but the zuchini makes it very moist and the blueberries give it a scrumptious little tang. **My anti fruit husband though thought it would be better with chocolate chips** I'd have to disagree.

Easy Fried Spinach

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2007
very good but i did have to make some additions because it was a little to bland...i added grated parmesean cheese and a dash of seasoned salt and pepper. **The second time i made it i chopped up a cup worth of red onion and 2 sm. red roma tomatoes chopped (add the onion in w/ the garlic and the tomato in for the last minute. Sprinkled a little cheese on top and it was delicious.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
This was very good I did though split the sour cream that was called for with half sour cream and half cream of mushroom soup so that it would still have a hint of that cream of mushroom taste. I also added the french fried onions on top instead of the crackers (just our family's personal preference). Overall this was very easy and very good. I did also only bake it in the oven for 15min, and it was just as good.

Tomato-Cream Sauce for Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
This sauce was very good. I took the advice of another reviewer and pureed the tomatoes and onions but it was a little to runny so I added a tsp of cornstarch mixed with a sm. amount of creamer first so it would be smooth. It lacked a little umph for us and had to add in a little crushed red pepper and a pinch of chile powder. My husband said it needed sprinkled with Parmesan Cheese to make it perfect.

This turned out awesome I had to double the recipe because we had some company in and to be honest this was the first homeade sausage gravy I've ever tried and it was awesome...it took some time to baby it but well worth it I made egg/bacon/hasbrowns with the bacon i cooked up for the drippings! Definitley a breakfast 101 homerun!

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
This was my first turkey and it was delicious! Our family is so big we had 2 turkeys this year and I decided I was up for the perfect turkey challenge. I doubled the recipe for my 22lb bird and ended up putting it in at 8pm the night before covered in foil. At only 230 F degrees and let her cook until 11:30 Thanksgiving morning. It was so juicy, my family raved over it! This is a definite keeper. I did mix the butter with garlic powder before rubbing it under the skin and threw in quartered onions, apples and an orange for flavor in the middle of the carcass. (if you want the pretty golden color make sure you take off the foil at least an hour before it's done, but don't forget to baste it so it won't dry out!) The leftover juice was to good to let go to waste, so I made a turkey dumpling soup the next day!! My mother-in-law couldn't believe we had bought our turkeys at the same place because of how juicy this recipe made mine!

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
This was super easy and delicious. I didn't have long grain rice on hand, so I used the Bulk Short Grain rice we have. I cooked it in our rice cooker and then threw in the tomato sauce (used left over spaghetti sauce), taco seasoning (we didn't have just cumin), only 1/4 c. broth and the cooked rice together in a skillet; it was delicious! This will be a favorite pick for fast, easy and delicious recipes at our household.

Lisa's Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2009
This recipe was delicious. I didn’t have chocolate pudding, so I used vanilla. I also used 1/2 cup of applesauce instead of oil. It was so moist and while it was still warm we dished it out (not frosted) and ate with several scoops of ice cream. WONDERFUL!

Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
This recipe was good; however you really need to use Texas Toast Bread or French Bread. Also I had to throw in a little extra splash of vanilla and brown sugar to the last half as my first crowd who were gobbling up the first half said they were a little bland. Overall they weren't to bad and very easy to whip up!
