Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: May 10, 2013
I made this for a church potluck, and it went so fast I didn't even get any! All I got was a constant stream of 'can I get the recipe?'! I've made it a few times since, following the recipe exactly as it reads, and wow, it is yummy. I love that it doesn't have that fake banana taste, since it uses vanilla pudding instead of artificially-flavored banana pudding.

Holiday Chicken Salad

Reviewed: May 10, 2013
I made this chicken salad for a baby shower, exactly according to the recipe. It was a big hit. I used rotisserie chicken breast meat, which made it easy. And I was so glad I took home the leftovers. It was even better the next couple days when the flavors could really blend. Making it for Mother's Day lunch this weekend. It's a keeper!

Slow Cooker Sauerkraut and Sausage

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2008
All I had at home was a 32 oz. jar of sauerkraut, and I didn't feel like trying to figure the 12 oz. to take out, so I just used the whole jar and 2 pounds of sausage. I used keilbasa, since so many reviewers suggested the change. I kept the sugar at 1/4 cup, used one whole onion, and cooked according to recipe directions. It was FANTASTIC! My husband is not normally keen on sauerkraut, so I was a little worried he would just pick out and eat the sausage. He didn't, though! He said it was "surprisingly" good. He attributed the cut in acidity to the onions, but the secret ingredient that makes the sauerkraut really palatable is the brown sugar. You can't taste it per say, but it really makes a delicious difference. I served the concoction on hoagie rolls with brown mustard. So good! This recipe is definitely a keeper. Thanks!

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2008
This recipe had so many rave reviews, I had to try it per the recipe, with no changes. I had a 5 lb. chicken, so I had to cook mine for almost 2 hours, but besides that, I prepared the recipe as written. It was FABULOUS. After the first bite, my husband said, "Oooh, I might eat myself to death tonight!" Which, coming from him, is a big compliment. Haha! I added 3 cups of water to the drippings while cooking and made gravy with flour & water while the chicken was waiting to be carved. We could have drunk the stuff! To die for. I will never roast a chicken any other way. So simple, so easy, so delicious. Fall off the bone, yum. Thanks!!

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2006
I added a second egg to the recipe and rolled the doughy batter into teaspoon-size balls, then rolled the balls in a sugar & cinnamon mixture. I baked them for 9 minutes, and they were amazing! Just chewy enough to be perfect -- melt in your mouth! I served them at a Bible study and had several women ask me for the recipe, even my mother-in-law (who's a great cook!). I was proud. Thanks for the recipe, and thanks for the tips from the other reviewers.
