My cooking triumphs
I had this great dish at a Greek restaurant in Philadelphia and had to learn how I could make it. So started my attempts at Mousakka. It takes really long to prepare and living in the Caribbean I've never been able to get hold of all the ingredients I need but mine still tastes great anyway.

Hamburger Buns
These were great for my first time making bread. I halved the recipe and since I don’t really eat white bread I substituted with whole wheat flour (accounting for the fact that it usually requires more liquid.) While they didn’t yield the half amount, they were really yummy and quick and easy to make. I’m fairly new to working with yeast but I do not think they would have turned out well had I never worked with yeast before. The directions do not offer much guidance apart from the bare essentials so I used the techniques from my other yeast recipes and some of the helpful reviews. Nevertheless, it’s a good recipe and I think this will be my “go to” for experimenting with breads.

Simple Scones
A great scone recipe! Would have been even more perfect with some clotted cream. What I love about it apart from the taste and texture are the tips that are included in the directions so you don't mess it up. I'm accustomed to making scones but I wanted to try a new recipe (so rubbing in butter wasn't a biggie for me) so I stuck to the the stated ingredients (except the unsalted butter). Now that I know it comes out so great I'll try some variations on it.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs
I'm from the Caribbean so I know nothing about authentic Italian food but this sauce is simple to make and excellent!
