Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2013
I was looking for a recipe for chicken thighs, and this was the first one that came up. It was SO good. I only did 6 thighs, and followed the directions for the sauce, so I wold suggest doubling it. Also worth taking the time to baste every 10 minutes. I think the sauce got layered on better than if you just dumped it on and cooked for the whole time. Will definitely make again!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2013
I didn't give it 5 stars since I think it could be better. I made it as written except for the following: no onion, used 3 breasts instead of 4 and used 1 16 ounce package of grands for the biscuits. I also added some spices, horseradish and dijon mustard. When I make it next time, I will add vegetables, cube the chicken (didn't want to have to shred it) and will make it more of a chicken pot pie stew.

Blueberry Buckle

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2013
I made this recipe exactly as written and it was really good! It did take longer to cook (about 40 minutes). It did not burn or anything. We had it for breakfast the next morning and loved it.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2012
Love this much better than the canned one. I did cook the onion a little before adding the rest of the ingredients so they wouldn't be raw in the dish. And, I used the french fried onions instead of the crackers. But, it was really good and I will never make the canned stuff again...it is just as easy to do it this way!!

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2012
I used the recipe as a base. I didn't have all the herbs, so I modified that. I also did sausage and fresh cranberries. I left out the celery because I don't like it. I used the bagged stuffing. I wanted this recipe because it was crock pot based, and it and the reviews gave me guidance to make it perfect. I added just enough liquid to moisten, and then I checked it as it cooked, and added as I went along. It was perfect stuffing and it save me room in my oven!!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2012
This was my first attempt at making rolls from scratch. I followed the instructions exactly and used my bread machine. I put the rolls in 9 inch glass round pie pans, and baked them. I think I got the yield. I also did them the night before, and reheated the next day. They were really good and tasted awesome. I was just so proud that I made homemade rolls!!

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2012
Made this today. Put it in the crock pot before work on low and came home to fall off the bone turkey. It smells wonderful and is juicy and moist. I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but this is a keeper!!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
I made some changes so I would have leftovers. I used 5 breasts, a can each of black, pinto and kidney beans. I left out the beer. I also had a bag of frozen corn that I used. I doubled the tomato sauce, used 2 cans of diced tomatoes and 1 can of chopped green chiles. I also had some corn tortillas, so I made my own chips in the over. Went over very well, and we have enough for 2 more dinners each!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2011
I have never had a ginger cookie before, and I am so glad I made these. I followed the recipe exactly as written. I did take a teaspoon and drop it into the sugar to roll easier. I flattened them a little with a fork, and they formed into perfect circles as they baked. They were soft in the middle and had a nice ring of crunch on the outside. These are seriously some delicious cookies. And, easy to make, so I will be making them again.

Slow Cooker BBQ Pork Chops

Easy and good. I used Jack Daniel's BBQ sauce. I also put grill seasoning on the chops before I put them in the crock pot. 4 hours on high and we had dinner!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
Delish! Very easy. I used some Red Delicious apples I had on hand, and I think i used 10 or 12 of them (they weren't very big). I did put the sliced apples in a gallon zipper bag, added a little lemon juice to stop them from browning. Then I added the flour, sugar and cinnamon to the bag and shook it. And, I only used 1/4 cup of water. Smelled SO good while it was cooking. Served with whipped topping and ice cream :)

Really good and super easy. My only change was I didn't have breasts, so I used some thighs. I just cooked them whole, and shredded them. Will be making again very soon!!

Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2010
Wow, this pumpkin bread is the bomb!! I really didn't change anything. I did add some vanilla, and added some additional pumpkin spice, and cut back on the cloves. It was super good and moist. Took just under an hour to cook the 2 loaves. I can't stop eating it!!

Sour Cream Apple Pie Deluxe

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
Best apple pie ever. I actually made a mistake when making it, not knowing how it would turn out, but it didn't matter. I had some lemon juice in a bowl with the diced apples to keep them from browning, and I forgot to drain them, and put the lemon juice in the pie by mistake. It was about a tablespoon or two. So, I just added a little more dry ingredients to thicken it back up. Well, the lemon juice gave it the slightly tart taste, and it was so good and not overly sweet. I will be making this again and again...and will add lemon juice on purpose :)

Caramel-Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
We really enjoyed this pie. I used a bit more of everything since I was using a deep dish pie plate. I also used refrigerated pie crust to make it easier.
