Cowboy Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2013
As someone who has a horrible baking addition and makes cookies almost every day (my husbands coworker love me) I have to say this is by far my favorite cookie recipe. I just love the butterscotch and oatmeal and they are nice and soft and chewy with a little crisp on the edges. Also as someone who pretty much alters every recipe I encounter, this is the only one I have yet to change in any way.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2012
This is my second time making this recipe in a week becaus my 11 month old LOVES it! Even my husband, who hates vegetables and all things new, said "it's ok" (his verison of I love it but will never admit that to you), after I force fed it to him! I omit the nuts and double the zucchini and it turns out moist and wonderful! I have a feeling I will be making this every week as long as my son has interest in it! He chose to eat this even when there was brownie on his tray and he doesn't share it with the dogs on the floor.

Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2012
I have made this a few times at Christmas and family get together. I have the recipe memorized and it is a definite hit and really easy and filling. I have learned that Half & Half really isn't necessary and if I don't already have it in the house, and I usually never do, I just go ahead and use milk and it turns out just the same. I also like to use a little nutmeg and allspice in the egg mixture to make it a little less bland. One important tip is to flip the bread over in the egg mixture either a few hours before you plan on cooking it or a few hours after you put it in the fridge, otherwise one side tends to be more soggy then the other.

Guacamole Cilantro Lime Cheeseburger

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2012
My husband and I have made these burgers quite a few times now and they are AMAZING! We are burger snobs, so to run across a recipe we like and don't end up altering 95%, it's a rare thing. This is by far my favorite burger.

Bikini Martini

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2008
I altered this martini to make a less strong alcohol flavor. I followed the directions but added one extra oz of pineapple juice and then three oz of lemon/lime soda. Could hardly tell there was alcohol in it!

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
This recipe was nice because I had all of the ingredients on hand and didn't need anything special. With that said, they were a little plain for my taste, but they still hit the spot and got the job done in both taste and simplicity.

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with Garlic Mayo

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
I thought this was an excellent Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. I am always searching for the perfect one and this ones seems to be it! Instead of slicing my own meat, I bought already sliced stirfry meat and it worked just great. Also I did not drain the liquid that formed in the pan from the meat and vegetables and used it to pour a little over the sandwich so that it was not so dry. I popped in under the broiler and it was good to go

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2007
My fiance and I loved this recipe. While the chocolate was still warm I sprinkled peanut butter chips over the top to add a different texture. Next time I will try dark chocolate. The semi-sweet was good but it seemed like it could be better. Also make sure that you sift the confectioners sugar. It will get lumpy on you and not mix in well.

Chocolate Ribbon Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
I made this recipe for my fiance when I was bored. It was pretty easy to make and really tasty. While waiting for the chocolate mixture to come together I found myself in love with the crispy/butterscotch/peanut butter mixture. I couldn't stop eating it. The recipe made a ton, more than the two of us and our roomate could eat so off to work it went with my fiance and the dish came back empty.

Margarita Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2007
After 3 batches of individualy measured out cupcakes with different amounts of everything I came up with a better recipe. It kinda follows this recipe but instead of orange cake use white cake. instead of lemon juice use liquid margarita mix. Don't use any water, instead use 1 1/8 cup tequila and 1 1/8 cup triplesec. It might seem like a lot of liquid but its not and believe me I really worked at this recipe. When it comes to the frosting just start pouring things in and see how you like it.

Betty's Best Hot Chicken Salad

Reviewed: May 24, 2006
My grandma use to make something like this when I was little and I wanted to find a recipie like it. This one was good except I cut back on the mayo just eyeballing it. Myboyfriend (who likes everything spicy) suggested canned green chilies. All and all it was a good recipie that I will make again
