Amazing Chicken

Reviewed: May 18, 2006
Loved, loved , loved it!! So glad I tried it. I did change it a tad: I used chicken with it's skin and used the Italian style bread crumbs, also added just a pinch salt, some pepper and garlic powder. Since the chicken had it's skin, I baked for a total of 1 hour, with the last 5 mins. on broil. It came out great! The only thing is, if you want to keep the bottom crispy do not add oil to the pan and use a pan with a rack. I would make this every week if I could!! I NEED TO ADD. You don't have to measure a thing, just slather mayo on the chicken and dip it in the crumbs! OH ON 350!

Shepherd's Pie Complete

Reviewed: May 3, 2006
I made this last night. It was pretty good. The Irish husband and his dad loved it. I only used 2 cans of gravy, one mushroom and one beef. 4 cans would have been waaay too much. I passed on the cheese. I've never had Shepherd's Pie with it, and I didn't want to ruin a good meal. I did however mixe in a few dashes of tabasco sauce to give it kick. I'd make this again, especeially on a cold day. Very hearty! Oh, altogether we ate 6 servings and I still have a half of pan left!

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: May 9, 2006
I really liked this recipe, however I only used some of the ingredients. I used penne pasta, then I started cooking the peppers. I did the peppers first, so that they wouldn't be crunchy. I seasoned the chicken very well with Cajun spice with S&P. I added the chicken to the pan with the peppers then I added the pasta and lastly the heavy cream. Although I only used the spice and salt and pepper, it came out great. Next time I make it, I'll add chopped jalapeno peppers to it. If you've ever been to Uno's Restaurant, it kinda reminded me of their "Rattlesnake Pasta". The hubby loved it so much his tummy hurt b/c he over did it.

Tasty Lemonade

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2006
I made this yesterday and my husband didn't know what it was! I thought it was good, but I did change it after he was confused about the taste. I made a whole pitcher then added white sugar. It tasted so much better. The next time I make it, I think I'll start off with half brown sugar and half brown first. Also, I peeled some of the lemons and added them into the pitcher.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2007
I wanted to love it, but thought it was way too runny. It was still soupy the next day and it had a weird taste. I did however like the technique. If I make this again, I would redo the amount of ingredients. I gave it a four because I voted a 3 and my husband rated it a four to four and a half.

Penne with Garlicky Broccolini

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2008
This was pretty good! I followed the recipe however, instead of bacon, I used sweet Italian sausage as P41OH suggested. I did add a load of chery tomatoes and extra olive oil. It wasn't dry at all and that allowed me to add a lot more parm. cheese. I will make this again!

Kielbasa with Peppers and Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
Hubby gave it 4 1/2 stars because I don't care for kielbasa. He loved it. I also let the potatoes (I used yellow)and kielbasa cook for a few minutes and dumped in the peppers and added garlic powder, salt, pepper, onion and red pepper flakes and served it with a side of sauerkraut. He wants me to make it again!

Whiskey Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2009
This was a good base. As is it's 3 stars. To me, it needed some tweaking. This is just my opinion. I added less that a cup of pineapple juice--1 cup would have been too sweet. I also added the whiskey by CAPful to desired taste. Also added chopped garlic, more pepper, broccoli, onions, corn starch, a pinch of salt and a heap of crushed pepper flakes. I also cooked the meat first (whole pieces) in a pan, poured all the ingredients into a baking dish and baked until done. I read where the smell of the whiskey cooking was not so good, so I baked it to burn the alcohol off. I then transferred everything bake into the pan I cooked the chicken in , cut up the chicken and added more of the above ingredients to taste. With a little tweaking, it's quite good. Some people like more of a sweet taste, some like spice. If you are going to go follow the recipe as is, mix the sauce together in a bowl and taste it, you can always add more to it. We loved it.
