Health Nut Blueberry Muffins

These muffins are okay, but not something I would make again. I think I am used to this type of taste (nutty taste, less sweet) in a denser muffin or bread, and it's throwing me off to have a light-textured muffin with this taste.

Apple Oatmeal Cookies II

Following the lead of a few other reviewers, I used applesauce in place of the butter to make these more healthy. Don't. They needed the butter for taste. I don't know if the butter would have helped the texture or not, but they were extremely spongy.

Lentil Soup

I give this four stars if you use broth instead of water. Only 3 stars if you use water - it needs a lot more help in the seasoning department than the recipe indicates if you use water.

Crab Quiche I

The succes of this quiche depends in large part on the brand of crab meat you buy. It was wonderful the first time we made it, but a little too strong the second time because I bought a different brand of crab meat. We left out the pie crust to lighten the fat a little, added some spinach and old bay seasoning as suggested by others, and substituted cheddar for swiss. We've made it several times now for guests at brunch, and our picky toddler even ate some of it too.

Banana Wheat Bread

My 18-month old really likes this and I am happy giving it to him because it's so nutritious. Substituted apple/apricot sauce for the oil and oat bran for the wheat germ. Tasted great.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

We made the recipe exactly as written after seeing it in the Allrecipes Cooknik sample. It was one of the best meatloaf recipes we've ever had, and is now "the" meatloaf recipe for our family. Perfectly moist and oh so tasty.

Orange and Lentil Soup

Our 15-month-old son loved this soup. My husband also really liked this, and he's not a big lentil fan. It has a nice creamy texture and a very smooth taste. Double it though, as others suggest. The base recipe only serves four as a first course.

Marinated Grilled Shrimp

Holy wow! This is the best shrimp ever! That's all there is to say about it, why make any other kind of shrimp again? My husband uses ketchup instead of tomato sauce, but that's the only change he makes. We serve this to company for appetizers alot. You can't go wrong with this.
