Cinnamon Syrup

Went well with pumpkin pancakes. I only used 1 tablespoon of flour and the consistency of the syrup was perfect for my tastes. Note: I have also tried 1/2 tablespoon of flour, but that wasn't quite enough.

Pumpkin Pancakes

Too dense for me, and I could taste the vinegar. For that matter, I could SMELL the vinegar with each bite, which was a bit of a turn off. I also think it needs more spices. Finally, the recipe made more than I was expecting, which means I have a ton left over for freezing.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge

Worked for me. Good texture, nice flavor. I would add vanilla next time, and cut down on the sugar. (I know, it's fudge!)

Marian's Fudge

This recipe set REALLY fast once I started beating it. It stilled looked glossy to me, but I would recommend as soon as it starts to thicken you pour it into your pan. As far as taste and texture go, they weren't bad. Maybe if I had poured the fudge sooner the texture would have been improved. Overall, not bad, but not amazing either.

Caramel Frosting V

This frosting wouldn't whip up for me, either. Yes, you can force it to become frosting by adding LOTS of powdered sugar, but that makes it so sweet as to be over the top. I agree with the reviewer who said the directions seem to be missing steps/detail.

Basic British Scones

Fluffy Biscuits

I liked that these biscuits plumped up so well, but the taste of baking powder was TOO strong. If I make them again, I will half the baking powder and hope they are still fluffy. I will also roll them to 3/4 inch as suggested as they were so high they toppled when I rolled them one inch.

Easy No Bake Cookies

I'll stick with the more traditional no-bake cookies. The texture of these was too oatmeal-mushy. I also thought there was way to much sugar, and I had already decreased it by half a cup. Seriously, use the no-bake recipe - there is even a "no peanut butter" version for those of you who don't want peanut butter. If you do make this recipe, make sure you use instant pudding.

Peanut Butter Cake II

If I was rating just the cake, I would give it a three. Although the flavor is good, the packaged cake mix taste still comes through. It is also dry and doesn't hold together well. If I was rating just the frosting, I would give it a four. It tastes AMAZING, but I only needed two cups of powdered sugar and significantly more cream than called for...so much in fact that next time I will use milk in order to spare some fat calories. If I was rating it on what my colleagues said about it as they ate it, then I would have to give it a five. They really enjoyed it and ate it all. I will definitely make the frosting again, and the cake I may play with a little. When I figure out how to make it less dry and crumbly, it has a lot of potential.

Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup

Yum! I didn't change much other than I didn't have poultry seasoning so used some thyme, rosemary, sage, crushed oregano, and parsley instead. I'll definitely make this soup again.

Banana Banana Bread

Is it possible for the bread to be too moist? It seemed so to me. Banana bread isn't my favorite, so perhaps I was hoping for a miracle, but I am unlikely to use this recipe again.

Best Tuna Casserole

I threw in some water chestnuts for texture. I liked the added crunch. I also left off the potato chips, as I didn't have any. I think I prefer the water chestnuts to the potato chips, though. Better for you...

Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread

Delicious! When I saw some reviews saying the molasses flavor was too strong, I knew I would probably like it. My usual complaint is that there isn't enough molasses! I did double all the spices, except for the ginger. I prefer a milder ginger taste. I also took some reviewers advice and shortened the baking time. It took about forty-five minutes for me. The texture was perfect, the flavor was delicious, and the smell was heavenly.

Blonde Brownies I

Great recipe! Everyone loves them! I did quite calling them blond brownies, though. By adding the chocolate chips, everyone thinks they are bar cookies. Either way - blond brownies or chocolate chip bar cookies - they are amazing!

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Mmmm. I rarely write reviews, but this recipe deserves one. I can understand why someone would request a bowl of this for a birthday! I made a quarter of the recipe and frosted an 9X13 cake (still in the pan). It made plenty for that. I also added almond extract since it was a chocolate cherry cake. TO be honest, the frosting was WAY better than the cake! Thanks for a perfect frosting recipe!

Old-Fashioned Potato Salad

I rated this as a five, because it really is superb. Personally, however, I will cut the sugar to half in the future. On the other hand, I love the zing that the vinegar gives it. Definitely add your own flavor with bacon, onion, etc.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

Mmmm. This is a great pie. I also agree that the peanut butter is a bit sweet and cut down on the sugar. I didn't have any chocolate pudding mix so I made homemade pudding using Dbon's Hasty Chocolate Pudding Recipe. It was amazingly delicious, but makes the pie richer and sweeter than using a mix. When I make it again, I will make less peanut butter filling, because it was pretty thick. This is a recipe I'll share with friends.
