I am an American with Mexican heritage and living in Canada. Love to bake, it's my therapy with my husband as my guinea pig. He will eat anything, but he is partial to my Choc.Chip cookies and my Blondies. I also love to cook stuff for Church events. I like running, excercising, reading, learning to Crochet, Cross-stitch and hang out with members of the congregation and family.
My favorite things to cook
I LOVE BAKING! I love making cookies, bread, cakes, pies, all thst stuff. But I am also from Mexican heritage and I love to cook mexican food the way my grandmothers and mother used to. I like Italian cooking as well and Chinese. I am always interested in trying new things, especially if it envoles baking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Tamales, I love them. Every winter my family makes these and I love making and eating them. I also love Menudo and Pozole (Mexican soups), that are usally also around in the winter. And of course baking cookies, I MUST make a batch of sugar cookies every Xmas. I am think of starting my own traditions when children arrive.
My cooking triumphs
When I learned to make tortillas, they are not hard to make, but it is easy to get wrong and being a Mexican it is a must to make. Also making bread from scratch by hand, its a lot more easy with a machine doing all the work for you, but its way better by hand.
My cooking tragedies
I have only a bad one, I made this soup, and I just put stuff in it that dont mix well, I didnt like it at all.
