Sugar-Free Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2007
I have made this recipe several times, use large box of pudding, adjust the milk a little at a time to get the consistency you need for frosting. The frosting stayed on the cake, no problem, use less milk so it's thicker. Just love this. It is like chocolate mousse. Will try other sugar-free flavors in the future.

Quick and Easy Crab Rangoon Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2007
I was very disappointed in this recipe. Too much soy sauce, not very eye appealing, the paprika was too bitter. I would never make it again.

German Baked Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2007
Sorry, but this just did not do it for me. It was almost too sweet and there wasn't much flavor from the kraut. I thought it sounded good and I liked all the ingredients but I wouldn't make it again.

Sloppy Joes I

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
My mother used to make this recipe fifty years ago. I don't know how she got the recipe but we used to love it. Everyone thought she made it up - - maybe she did but we loved it as kids and still do.

Green Bean Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
Another option would be to cook a ham bone with the green beans, etc. for a few hours and add potatoes near the end of the cooking. I mash the potatoes a little to help thicken it. I also add vinegar and a little sugar to balance the tartness. I don't use sour cream. Recipe was handed down from my great-grandmother. This is definitely comfort food and a very inexpensive soup to make.

Garlic and Ranch Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
Very salty, too soggy. I used a lot of Panko crumbs to hold it together, maybe cut back on the Worchester. I don't think it needed salt. It definitely would have fallen apart had I not added the crumbs. Can't say I would make this recipe again as there are too many other ones to try. Actually thought the flavor really came through better as they cooled.

Mom's Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2009
This cake is delicious. I felt the middle kind of bubbled a little bit, don't know why, kind of a rectangular pattern in the center. It didn't fall. It was very moist and I used a powdered sugar, melted butter recipe that I got on All Recipes. It tastes like homemade fudge. I would definitely make this cake again. The coffee enhanced the flavor of the cake and cut the sweetness of the frosting.

Summer Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2009
I thought this was very good, but really felt it was much, much better the second day. They definitely needed more seasoning. I think I just added more black pepper and salt. I love all the different veggies and the rice of course is what stuffed peppers is all about.

Pea 'n' Cheese Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
Felt this salad was bland. Needs something else but haven't figured out yet what that could be. Sorry, but wouldn't make it again.

Cream of Broccoli Soup II

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
Enjoyed this recipe but did not add salt. Canned broth is usually salty enough. Had turkey broth and chicken broth so used both. Flavor is very good. Used carrots in my soup and then pureed everything when it was done. Very, very good. I thickened with two large potatoes, cooked and mashed. Worked very well.

Chicken 'n' Stuff

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2010
Okay, I bought the stuffing mix but no seasoning packet, bought Stove Top Stuff, low sodium. With the cheese, canned soup and stuffing, there was plenty of salt, very good flavor, used part cr/chick soup along with cr/mush, very good. I would rate it comfort food on a cold day.

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2010
That's a spicy meatball!! Delicious. Lots of flavor and can't wait to taste it after 24 hours of the flavor marrying. I probably added a little more hot sauce than I should have but they really are flavorful.

Mini Pineapple Upside-Down Cakes

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
I made these for Easter. Used the pineapple juice for the water. These turned out great. Beautifully displayed on a platter. I will definitely make these again. Couldn't be any easier. In fact easier than flipping over a pan. I would serve sweetened whipped cream with each one.

Tortellini Bacon Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
Made this recipe for a party. I have made lots of different broccoli/pasta salad recipes but this one is exceptionally good. Very easy to make, takes no time at all. Will definitely put this one into my recipe box. Love, love, love it.

Chinese Take-Out Shrimp with Garlic

Reviewed: May 23, 2010
This was exceptionally good. I was surprised at the flavor. No soy sauce which is great. I had a little too much red pepper in it so will cut back the next time. A little too much heat for me.

Grandma's Blackberry Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
My cake was very dry. I don't know what happened. I don't think I will try it again as no one is eating it, probably because of the dryness.

Enchilada Casserole III

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2010
I found this to be kind of dry. Very good flavor and texture. I would use more cheese and more sauce. I also think it could use black beans, fire roasted tomatoes for more moisture, maybe even black olives. It just needs something else but can't quite decide.

Green Bean and Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2010
I just wasn't that crazy over this salad. Love the combination but thought maybe the white balsamic vinegar would make it more eye appealing, almost too much dressing. I think I could almost double the recipe but keep the dressing the original amount. I was disappointed. A little too tart for me. (I wish I would have read the more current reviews. For sure, I would have doubled the veggies or maybe not made it).

Czech Stuffed Green Peppers

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2010
Very easy to make. Wasn't sure if I should cook the rice completely as thought it would get mushy from overcooking. Why can't it go in raw? I liked the idea of not cooking the peppers first. They baked just fine in the oven. I think it could have used more rice. I used 2 eggs and 3 lbs. grd. beef as the peppers were large and it worked out well. I have tried other recipes for stuffed peppers from All Recipes. This one was good but I think I would try other recipes just to compare.

Apricot Danish Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2010
Very flavorful, good texture, but didn't think it was a "danish-like" pastry, maybe because of the cake mix. I would experiment with other fruit, maybe Solo pastry fillings or fresh fruit, preserves, even pie filling. Presentation is very pretty. I love apricots so maybe fresh would be best. Love the cream cheese. I would make this again because it is so simple to make and I think most adults would love it, not so sure about kids.
