About this Cook
I'm married with three kids and two grandchildren. I have worked in the restaurant industry for more than 20 years which includes my own catering business that I owned and ran for 10 years. I also work with restaurants as a consultant and also do secret shopping for quality reports for restaurant owners. My new love is replicating food with realistic food candles. http://carolinagencorp.goods.officelive.com
My favorite things to cook
Pretty much everything; I loved doing special requests for special events and anything out of the ordinary was the most fun.
My favorite family cooking traditions
All of the holidays and birthdays are major events in our family. Big extravagant meals are the norm. We could feed an army at each of those meals and sometimes we practically did! No one left hungry!!
My cooking triumphs
Taking the big step into catering.
My cooking tragedies
Hiring a friend to help me with one of my catering jobs and her not following my instructions on the potato dish I had her make...it was awful. Everything else was great though and they didn't hold it against us even though I was completely embarrassed by the blunder.

Fluffy Pancakes
I didn't have the fluffiness that I expected from this recipe. It seemed similar to the one that my mother used to make for us when we were kids, but after adding berries to the mix, it just sunk and was very unimpressive and my mother's recipe never did that; she always added berries to her pancakes and they were always very fluffy and yummy. That's what I'm missing.

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies
I remember when this recipe first came out in the WIC cookbook in the 1980's. It's the only one the I ever use. We've loved it ever since we first tried it; it's good to see that it's still around and people are still using it.
