Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2013
Did not like this. Like some people said... peaches with biscuits on top. It is not a peach cobbler. I think that it might have been better with canned peaches.

Curry Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
Not a big fan of this. I used the coconut milk. No one in the family liked it. Don't get me wrong... I love curry and pumpkin. It just did not work for us.

Tater Tot Casserole III

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2010
Yum! So good! I added 1/2 a block of cream cheese that I had. Made it even that much better! I also changed from cornflakes to Ritz cracker crumbs and no Parmesan cheese. Never a real fan of Corn Flake toppings.

Not a lot of flavor... just really sweet from the sauce.

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
Was not as great as some of the reviews state. I am not a fan of canned icing...that was all I tasted. Another recipe calls for a bag of Oreos and a block of cream cheese "mushed" together. It had a better taste than the cake idea in this recipe.

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
This is very sweet. It got good comments at a party. However, I was not able to form a "ball". I served it as a dip. Even after chilling, it never got firm enough to hold its shape.

Great Pumpkin Dessert

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2007
Really good and different. I took this dish to a work party and ended up giving out the recipe to everyone. One thing... I could not cut this into bars. I had to take the whole pan and serve it with a spoon. Still, very good!

Corn Dip II

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2007
This was great and super easy. It makes a lot. You may need to scale it down. I also skipped the cilantro and used reduced fat mayo and sour cream. Turned out great!

Okra, Corn and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2006
Good, however, not so sure that I liked the bacon in it. Next time, I think I will use smoked sausage. The combination of veggies turned out great.

Daria's Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2005
Good flavor and easy to make. However, this was almost soup. I even added cornstartch/water to thicken... did not help. Will not make again.

Chili con Carne II

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2004
Very good. However, I did not use ground beef. I wanted more "body" and decided to cube my beef (1/4 inch cubes, very small). It gave the chili great texture. I had no whole cloves and used a "pinch" of ground instead. I also added a small can of tomato paste to thicken. Turned out great!

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2004
This tasted like the run of the mill meatloaf. Nothing special

American Lasagna

This was good. However, it may need more salt. It also seemed a little too sweet.

Shrimp and Okra Gumbo

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2003
This is a good if you add some spices (the mixture listed earlier is great). The water must be cut down. I quit at 8 cups. I also added a brown roux to thicken. Without it, it is way too weak. Without the extra spices, it has little flavor. Also, add a bay leaf and some Tabasco.

Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2003
Very good and very easy. I shreaded my chicked rather than diced. It gave it a better texture and accepted the "sauce" better. I also skiped few steps by combining the soup mixture, chicken and cheese before layering. Turned out great!

Tomato Bisque II

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2003
Very good. However, I did not use fresh tomatoes. Too much work. I used 2-16oz cans of diced tomatoes and 1- 16 oz can of tomato sauce. Also, make sure you use whole milk or half and half, 2% / skim won't cut it. I also bumped up the sugar to cut the sharpness. Turned out to be thick and creamy, very filling!

Good. However it was missing something (???). Also, add more salt in the flour.

Wilted Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2003
Good... However, I agree that it is a little too greasy. Also, do not stir in bacon with the greens. Add them on top. They got "soft" when I added the dressing.
