Steak Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2013
based on reviews I added 1/2 can of tomato paste. I used 1/2 cabernet as written in reviews. Way too much. next time I would either omit or use 1/4 cup. I added kidney beans, green beens and elbow noodles. Came out more like a stew which is what I wanted. doubled potatoes

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2011
I followed others recommendations and did the following. 1 1/2 C half & half, 1 1/2 C coconut milk, 1/2 C corn starch, an extra egg yolk, 3/4 cup unsweetened coconut, 1/4 toasted sweet coconut for top. Used real whipped cream. Excellent pie! It is not too sweet but just perfect. I may try using 1 cup coconut cream next time instead of 1 1/2 c coconut milk to add a little but more sweatness.

Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
Perfect pie crust! Super flakey and buttery! I used butter flavor crisco instead of regular which is a must!!! I did get enough for 1 1/2 pies which is fine because I froze the extra. I made this with the "famous" apple pie by grandma ople on this site and boy!!! The best Apple pie anyone can ever make!!!! The crust and pie were out of this world! This is definitely my go to crust!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
The best apple pie ever! I used Ruth's Grandma's pie crust which was also the best crust I havve ever tasted and worked perfect with this pie! I did what alot of people suggested and used 1 tbs vanilla, and 1 tsp cinnamon. I cooked it at 350 for the whole hour. I also used 3 granny smith and 2 large honey crisp apples which were a great mix instead of all tart. I used a whole pie crust for the top, saved 2/3 of the sugar mixture and brushed it on top which was Amazing!!!! This is now my permanent apple pie recipe!!!!! Thank you for making me look good in the future!!!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2011
THe absolute best!!! I will be making this recipe forever and handing it down to my kids. I even just make and freeze the meat sauce for pasta! It kicks my cicilian mother in law's out of the ballpark!!! My husband is extremely picky with italian food and says this is the best lasagna he has ever eaten. That was 3 years ago and I have been making this ever since.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
Very good chocolate chip cookie but I guess I was expecting more of something. I just can't put my finger on it. I gave a bunch to my husband to take to work and 2 of the men asked my husband to get the recipe from me so their wives can make them. So, they loved them!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
I have been looking all over for an oatmeal cookie like this!!!! I haven't had one as good in 7 years (I lived in Ca. from a popular bakery) Even my hubby who hates raisins said they were the best he had ever had. I will be making the next batch for him per his request with chocolate chips instead of raisins, YUM!!! As per reviews I soaked the raisins to plump them up. I didn't have any cloves so I added a tsp of pumpkin pie spice. Plus I used all butter instead of shortening. Cookies were soft but had that sugary crispyness to the edges!!!! Melts in your mouth!!!!!!!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
DELICIOUS!!!! I didn't have any boulion so I added low salt Chicken stock instead of water. I added a total of about 3 cups ham and some shredded carrots. I chopped onion until smooth in food processor. I like soup thick so I took a can of potatoes ( I think 15oz small can) and chopped the whole can until smooth. THis was besides the diced fresh potatoes. I also added about 1-2 cups shredded cheddar. It came out amazing!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
Awesome dinner rolls!!!!! Made them for Chrismas and what a hit!!! They are light, fluffy, and buttery!!!. I froze them the week before individualy. Defrosted on the counter for an hour then popped them in the oven on Chrismas for 10 min at 350 still wrapped. They tasted the same as when I originally poppled them out of the oven. The next morning I even took one out of the tin foil, popped in Microwave for 20 secons and YYYUUUMMM Still fluffy and soft!!!!

Cream of Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
Great soup! I did take the reviewers suggestions and added 2 more cans of pumpkin, doubled (or maybe even) trippled the spices. I did add cayanne for that kick because it seemed like something was missing. Plus added 1/4 C of Brown sugar. If I made it like the recipe said, it would be very very bland.

Awesome Sausage, Apple & Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
I took a chance and made this for Chrismas based on the rating. I usually make my stuffing w/ out sausage, apples, etc. This was exceptionally good!!!! I am going to have to make this at holidays plus a "plain" stuffing for the hubby who is picky and doesn't like the fruit in his stuffing. I also put 1/2 granny smith apple and 1/2 Cup cranberries which seemed more then enough. I think any more would have been way too much. Also, couldn't find turkey liver since we had ham. It turned out great even w/ out the liver. I also had to add alot more turkey stock since i cooked it in a 9X13 dish.

Sugar Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
Made these for Chrismas and everyone raved over them!!! The only thing I did differently was mixed 1/2 Lb Pecans w/ 1/2 LB Cashews. The cashews were AMAZING and made it a bit more special then just pecans.
