Sy's Challah

Reviewed: May 8, 2009
Having never made challah before I was looking for a well reviewed basic recipe. This was it! I did not need 24 servings so I reduced the recipe by about half. I used quick rise yeast and it still required more time than the recipe called for, but that could be me who knows. I also added 1/4 cup honey to make it sweet. It was amazing.

Bananas Foster Pudding

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2008
Amazing. Since it was for two people I halved the recipe. I used soymilk instead of cream (vegetarian) and used Cream sherry instead of banana liquor. Perfect. And I am not even a big fan of bananas!

Vegetarian Faux Chicken Patties

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2007
great but... ** Vegetarians take note** most stuffing on supermarket shelves contains some form of vegetable fat or broth so it is not suitable for veg*ns. Other than that its a great recipe, try Morningstar or Lightlife for unchicken variety! :)

Berliner Kranzer

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2007
I waited for them to turn a bit golden, they did not, took them out they were hard and bland. Waste of ingredients. I was so excited to make cookies for my German family too!

Breaded, Fried, Softly Spiced Tofu

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2006
I am new to cooking tofu.I found this recipe easy to make and loved the flavor. I served it over asparagus and carrots. One thing though, my partner who is semi-veg said there was not enough flavor, so I might try a vegan poultry seasoning or allspice in the batter next time.

Tofu Chocolate Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2006
I really don't eat much tofu- but I tried this with "Dark" chocolate chips, ans "Silken" tofu. It was EXCELLENT- I processed it until creamy and there is no weird soy taste! my non-veg family loved it too. I only chilled for an hour.

I often make this dish, and it is always great, try it with edamame for more protein and heart healthy soy power!
