Sweet Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 26, 2010
This is may favourite recipe and will be making this over and over again. I used butter instead of margarine, added 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and I used organic flour. It was so moist and cake like.

Carrot Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2008
This was a great recipe. I substituted 3/4 cup of the all-purpose flour for whole wheat flour and used 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup white sugar. I didn't have applesauce so I used the full amount of oil. I also added a tsp of vanilla. Turned out super moist and delicious! I served it with the Cream Cheese Frosting II (recipe on this site). Got rave reviews!

Meaty Thick Man Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
This is my favourite recipe. Though I did make changes.. I seared beef stewing cubes and simmered it for up to 2 hours in beef broth until it was really tender. I then follwed the recipe and added the beef cubes and cooked it all together. I used a can of tomato puree and another of diced tomatoes. It was fantastic!

Breakfast Kolaches

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
This was a great recipe! I didn't have bread flour so I used all-purpose. I don't know the difference between the two anyways. The kolaches still turned out great. I used different fillings and rolled them up as was shown in the photo even though I know it was meant to put on top. I sauted green peppers, broccoli and chopped tomatoes and put that in with some scrambled eggs and bacon and shredded cheese. I also prepared them and left them on a baking sheet in the fridge overnight to bake in the morning. Worked great! I did have to increase the baking time a little bit though and I brushed them with butter. I also made some for dinner last night but in those I put some sauted roast beef lunch meat with au jus and some cheese in the middle and then baked them. Serve with the Au Jus for dipping as well. YUM!

Beef Barley Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2010
Just finished a bowl of this delicious soup! It was perfect.. mind you, I did do a few changes. I added more vegetables (chopped green pepper, asparagu, and cauliflower.)Three cloves garlic, and Added a beef bullioncube, a couple dashed of worchestire sauce and reduced the oregano and basil by at least half. My two year old helped put the ingredients into the pot before cooking and she was very proud for helping. My six year old thinks it's one of the best soups she has ever had. Sooo good!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2008
This recipe was great! Simple and easy. I added more vegetables like zucchini, green beans and some turnip. I also don't have a slow cooker so I simmered it in a pot on the stove for a couple hours.

Simple Cauliflower Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
This was an easy and simple soup to make. Tasted great - though I think personally it was missing a seasoning or two.. it was a bit too simple. A great base if you want to get creative in the kitchen with it. ;)
