About this Cook
I was born and raised in Charleston,SC. my mom taught me how to cook at an early age but i learned a great deal from my grandmother. i would sit in the kitchen and just watch her and i picked up quite well. being raised in the South, I consider myself to be a pretty good cook. I'm always opent o try new things!
My favorite things to cook
I actually like to bake more than cook. i like to experiment with new things, seasonings and flavors to know what combinations I like best.
My favorite family cooking traditions
my favorite family tradition is having the whole family for Thanksgiving and Christmas-Turkey, stuffing, and all of the fixin's :) Gives me a chance to really showcase my talents!

Best Fried Green Tomatoes
This was s great recipe! I omitted the cornmeal and salt and used Italian breadcrumbs. I also added a package of Hidden Valley Buttermilk Ranch dressing mix to the breadcrumbs for a little more flavor and it did not disappoint. it was very tasty..will be making this again :)

Honeyed Chicken
this was very tasty! I was looking for something different and came across this and it did not disappoint. I followed the suggestions of some and added in a bit of cinnamon, paprika and red pepper and it was absolutely fabulous and the aroma while it was baking was divine!! This is definitely a keeper :)

Strawberry Cake from Scratch
this cake was absolutely heavenly! I took the suggestion of others and only used egg whites and cut the sugar down to 1 1/2c. I used frozen unsweetened strawberries and didn't add any extra sugar. since I used a bundt pan, I had to bake for abt 55min since the center was not done. It was very moist and the color was beautiful. I also frosted with cream cheese frosting and it was a big hit with the family!
