Cheese Enchiladas

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2003
YUM! I came online searching for something I could make with what I had on hand, and this was perfect, with only a few minor substitutions. I used flour tortillas instead of corn, and Haberno pepper seasoning instead of Creole. I zapped all the veggies in my food processor, combined with the cheese (two cups, based on other reviews) and added a can of chicken, then stirred all the filling together in a big mixing bowl. With that, I had a delicious, easy to make dinner that I'm sure I'll make again.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2002
Wonderful! I actually logged off the internet to go throw this recipe together, and seven hours later we had a delicious supper! I used a smaller roast, so I cut down on the water, but still used both cans of soup. I also tossed in cut-up potatoes and baby carrots. A wonderful meal!

Pickle Rollups

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2003
My grandma makes these all the time for family gatherings, although she serves hers as whole pickles, not sliced. (Note: the whole pickle version needs a toothpick to keep the "wrapping" in place.) I've also seen a version of this where horseradish was added into the cream cheese.

Mashed Potato Casserole

Reviewed: May 24, 2003
I just was searching for a way to use up my onion dip... this turned into a wonderful surprise! The flavors are nicely blended. My husband said he liked it better than regular mashed potatoes. I actually followed the recipe as given, and didn't make any changes like I usually do. This one's a keeper... thanks for sharing the recipe!

King Ranch Chicken Casserole I

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2003
I used one pound of uncooked, cubed chicken tenders, and baked it for about 45 minutes, until the chicken was cooked through. I also used just enough chips to cover the bottom of my casserole dish- not a whole bag. It was still very good-- very creamy & cheesy, and a good comfort food. I'm eating leftovers today using tortilla chips and eating it as a very thick dip- I thought about running it through a food processor and serving it as a dip next time. Yum!

Cheesy Brat Stew for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2003
I make a recipe that's almost identical to this on the stovetop, except that it calls for kielbasa and omits the cheddar cheese. It hadn't occured to me to throw it in the crockpot, but I'll try it- thanks!

Cherry Crisp

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2003
This was a great quick & easy dessert that I made with ingredients I already had on hand. I omitted the nuts to suit my family's taste, and it was still really good.

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2003
YUM! I added a 29oz can of homestyle chunky cut VegAll, a can of peas w/ onions, and a whole chopped onion. And based on other reviews, I cooked the chicken (3 breasts) in half broth. This was wonderful, a definite keeper!

Firecracker Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2003
When I went to make this recipe, I discovered I was out of beef boullion, so I substituted an envelope of onion soup mix. These were wonderful!! They came out very moist and with lots of flavor. I'm not normally a big hamburger fan, but with this recipe I'll be making them more often. Thanks for sharing!

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2003
As written, I thought this was a little bit bland, so I spiced it up quite a bit to suit our tastes. With the spices, it gets five stars! I added: dried minced onion, red pepper, jalapeno seasoning, garlic pepper, cajun seasoning, and a lot of cilantro. I also used one can of cream soup as other reviewers suggested. This soup came out so good that I couldn't wait, and burned my tongue eating it before it cooled off! ;)

Wisconsin Bratwurst

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2003
This was great! I did mine indoors on my George Foreman grill. The onions had a nice, sweet flavor to them. I'm from a big German family, so I grew up eating lots of brats-- and this is how I'll fix mine from now on!

Potatoes in Paper

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2003
My parents use this same recipe, minus the cheese, on the grill. The potatoes get nice and crispy that way. Yummy!

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2003
This was wonderful! I took it to a potluck and people I'd never met before were asking me for the recipe. I rolled mine in graham cracker crumbs & more chocolate chip instead of nuts and that worked beautifully.

Owen's Mozzarella and Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2003
To use what I had on hand (which right now is a million cherry tomatoes from the garden!)I made this with shredded cheese and cherry tomatoes. I tossed it all together and served it in bowls. This is a great combination of flavors, and I plan to make it again this coming weekend for company!

Grilled Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2004
I never would have thought of grilling my peanut butter sandwich, but I'm glad I saw this recipe~ what a treat! I made mine on wheat bread with honey instead of jelly, and it was delicious. One hint: don't use fat-free margarine, as the bread won't get nice and golden crisp. Regular margarine or butter works better.

Wisconsin Cheese Soup II

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2004
This was wonderful~ a nice creamy, filling soup. I didn't have the fresh veggies the recipe called for, so I pureed a bag of broccoli/carrot mix in my food processor and used it instead. My soup was pretty thick~ (maybe because I changed the veggies?) more like a cheese sauce~ so I added about two cups of chicken broth and then it came out perfectly. This recipe is definitely a keeper- thanks for sharing!

Pepper Steak Packet

Reviewed: May 31, 2004
This was delicious! I baked it in the oven for about 35-40 minutes on 425. I added a few shakes of spicy Mrs Dash, and used a frozen bag of "stir fry mix" that had three kinds of peppers plus onions. This will definitely be on our regular menu rotation- thanks for sharing!

Tater Tot Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2001
I printed this recipe off several months ago and have made it frequently since then- my husband and I love it! Cream of onion soup also works well if you're out of mushroom- I discovered that just this week! I also like to add chopped red and green peppers and onions when I have them in the house. A great recipe!

This is WONDERFUL!! I make the chocolate cake with cherry pie filling, then drizzled chocolate syrup over it while it was still warm and served with vanilla ice cream. Sinful! Thanks so much for sharing this recipe! :)
