Way Easy Pizza Sauce/Bread Stick Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2003
This was pretty good on my Bisquick pizza crust. I added several dashes of onion salt, and used garlic pepper since I didn't have any garlic salt. I think I'll try adding some other seasonings, but overall, this recipe is a keeper.

Microwave Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2001
This is WONDERFUL!! I make the chocolate cake with cherry pie filling, then drizzled chocolate syrup over it while it was still warm and served with vanilla ice cream. Sinful! Thanks so much for sharing this recipe! :)

Bok Bok Popovers

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2003
I used a 10oz can of chicken to make these really quickly, and that was a good amount of chicken. I also seasoned to taste, adding cilantro, garlic pepper, and Mrs Dash. I softened the cream cheese in the microwave to make it really creamy and easy to mix. I thought about adding some fresh chopped broccoli for crunch next time, but my husband said not to- he liked them just the way they were. Overall, this recipe was quick, easy, and very rich-- it's not one for someone who doesn't like cream cheese! HINT: leftovers heated in the microwave get a little soggy, so next time I'll reheat leftovers (if there are any!) in the oven.

Flavored Cappuccino Mix

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2003
I printed this off quite some time ago & love it! I have sold jars of it at my craft booth, and given jars as holiday gifts. If you increase this recipe to: 2 cups dry milk, 4 cups 2 TBSP sugar, 4 cups non-dairy powdered creamer, and 2 cups instant coffee, it fills eleven 8-oz jelly jars.

Firecracker Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2003
When I went to make this recipe, I discovered I was out of beef boullion, so I substituted an envelope of onion soup mix. These were wonderful!! They came out very moist and with lots of flavor. I'm not normally a big hamburger fan, but with this recipe I'll be making them more often. Thanks for sharing!

Pickle Rollups

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2003
My grandma makes these all the time for family gatherings, although she serves hers as whole pickles, not sliced. (Note: the whole pickle version needs a toothpick to keep the "wrapping" in place.) I've also seen a version of this where horseradish was added into the cream cheese.

Strawberry Bread III

Reviewed: May 21, 2002
I tried to cheat and use fresh strawberries, which didn't work at all. The whole loaf turned into a purple-gray color, and the middle didn't cook at all-- it was the consistancy of a thick pudding. I had to scrape it out of my breadmaker. I guess next time I'll have to follow the directions! ;)

Pepper Steak Packet

Reviewed: May 31, 2004
This was delicious! I baked it in the oven for about 35-40 minutes on 425. I added a few shakes of spicy Mrs Dash, and used a frozen bag of "stir fry mix" that had three kinds of peppers plus onions. This will definitely be on our regular menu rotation- thanks for sharing!

Beer Dip I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2001
Made this for a Christmas party and served it with those new Fritos scoops... my family liked it, but I had plenty left over. I added cilantro and dried, minced onion to give it a little more zip. I'll probably try this one again, maybe adding some green onions next time. ----------Note added later (3/30/02): I discovered that keeping this dip in the fridge a few days really improves the flavor- we really enjoyed the left overs, even better than the first time I served it! The second time I made this recipe, I added green onions, chilled the mixture overnight, and turned it into a cheeseball by rolling it in chipped beef-- delicious!!

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2003
YUM! I added a can of chopped green chili peppers, an onion, and some mushrooms. Casseroles this good usually involve several steps- this one was really quick- just dump everything in a bowl and bake. Thanks for sharing this recipe, Melissa!

Ham and Cheese Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2004
I used this to make finger sandwiches for a club meeting, and everyone seemed to enjoy them. I really liked the combination of flavors. I left out the celery because I didn't have any on hand. This was my first attempt at making homemade ham salad, and I'll definitely use this recipe again.

Lime Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2003
The flavors of garlic and lime were a nice combination- what looked like ordinary fried chicken pieces had that little kick of lime taste. I served it with angel hair pasta. I also added an onion and some cilantro.

Iced Mochas

WOW! I used instant coffee and skim milk and this was still delicious. I'll be saving the $3 a cup I normally pay at my favorite bookstore. Wendy, thank you so much for sharing this recipe!

Texas Eggs

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2001
We had this for Christmas morning breakfast as the poster suggested, and we really enjoyed it. It's got a different texture (something like bread pudding) from most make-ahead egg casseroles that I've tried.

Easy Chocolaty Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2004
I only had vanilla pudding in the house, but it worked just fine~ I added a little bit of cocoa powder, too, to make up for the vanilla flavor, but I don't think it would have mattered if I hadn't. These came out to be very moist, fudgy brownies~ I can't believe there's no oil or eggs in them. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Texas Ranch Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2003
I cut this recipe down to serve two- I did this with chicken tenders in a 9x9" casserole. I also topped the chicken with bread crumbs based on another review. It was really good- it had a great creamy texture. I served it with pasta, although next time I might make some crusty bread with it. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Green Beans with Cherry Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2003
I was really impressed with how well these flavors blended together. I used two cans of green beans, drained, instead of frozen, so I omitted the first step. It was great! I was looking for a colorful side dish to serve with pork chops and mashed potatoes, and this was perfect. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Owen's Mozzarella and Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2003
To use what I had on hand (which right now is a million cherry tomatoes from the garden!)I made this with shredded cheese and cherry tomatoes. I tossed it all together and served it in bowls. This is a great combination of flavors, and I plan to make it again this coming weekend for company!

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2003
This was wonderful! I took it to a potluck and people I'd never met before were asking me for the recipe. I rolled mine in graham cracker crumbs & more chocolate chip instead of nuts and that worked beautifully.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2002
I served this at a Longaberger basket party and it didn't go over too well. The fruit was mushy and purple-looking, and most people just tasted it and didn't finish their helpings. The chips were good the night before, fresh out of the oven; however, I stored them overnight in an airtight container, and they still tasted stale the next day. I will probably make the chips by themselves again to serve as a snack hot out of the oven, but I won't try the fruit salsa again.
