Easy and Delicious Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2001
My husband and I love this recipe-- it's become a regular meal for us! I make a whole bag of egg noodles with it, and serve it on top of the noodles. Then the leftover chicken mixture and noodles are mixed together -- it keeps pretty well. Thanks to Monika Polly for sharing it with us!! :)

Texas Eggs

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2001
We had this for Christmas morning breakfast as the poster suggested, and we really enjoyed it. It's got a different texture (something like bread pudding) from most make-ahead egg casseroles that I've tried.

Microwave Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2001
This is WONDERFUL!! I make the chocolate cake with cherry pie filling, then drizzled chocolate syrup over it while it was still warm and served with vanilla ice cream. Sinful! Thanks so much for sharing this recipe! :)

Tater Tot Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2001
I printed this recipe off several months ago and have made it frequently since then- my husband and I love it! Cream of onion soup also works well if you're out of mushroom- I discovered that just this week! I also like to add chopped red and green peppers and onions when I have them in the house. A great recipe!

Tommy's Ham Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2001
This recipe was really quick, but we found it to be very bland, even with the addition of chopped broccoli and some basic seasonings. My husband tried topping it with salsa- that wasn't bad. I might try it again, going heavy on the cheese and spices... maybe adding some banana peppers this time?

Beer Dip I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2001
Made this for a Christmas party and served it with those new Fritos scoops... my family liked it, but I had plenty left over. I added cilantro and dried, minced onion to give it a little more zip. I'll probably try this one again, maybe adding some green onions next time. ----------Note added later (3/30/02): I discovered that keeping this dip in the fridge a few days really improves the flavor- we really enjoyed the left overs, even better than the first time I served it! The second time I made this recipe, I added green onions, chilled the mixture overnight, and turned it into a cheeseball by rolling it in chipped beef-- delicious!!

Easy Cheesy Chicken I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2001
The chicken was tender and the recipe was very easy... but my husband and I found it a little bland. I think next time I'll add onions, and maybe peas (as other reviewers have suggested) or even broccoli. I'll keep this recipe and try it again!

Salsa Chicken Burrito Filling

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2001
I've used this recipe several times since I printed it off a few months ago. My husband and I are big fans of spicy & Mexican foods, and this recipe suits our tastes. I have left out the cumin, which doesn't seem to matter- it's still great! Leftovers work well poured over nacho chips, topped with cheddar cheese, and heated until the cheese melts. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Cheddar and Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2001
I used shredded cheddar, and omitted the celery (I didn't have any on hand, so I added more onion), and carried a bowl of this in a car for three hours, and it still tasted pretty good! It was a hit at a family party.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2002
Wonderful! I actually logged off the internet to go throw this recipe together, and seven hours later we had a delicious supper! I used a smaller roast, so I cut down on the water, but still used both cans of soup. I also tossed in cut-up potatoes and baby carrots. A wonderful meal!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2002
I served this at a Longaberger basket party and it didn't go over too well. The fruit was mushy and purple-looking, and most people just tasted it and didn't finish their helpings. The chips were good the night before, fresh out of the oven; however, I stored them overnight in an airtight container, and they still tasted stale the next day. I will probably make the chips by themselves again to serve as a snack hot out of the oven, but I won't try the fruit salsa again.

Strawberry Bread III

Reviewed: May 21, 2002
I tried to cheat and use fresh strawberries, which didn't work at all. The whole loaf turned into a purple-gray color, and the middle didn't cook at all-- it was the consistancy of a thick pudding. I had to scrape it out of my breadmaker. I guess next time I'll have to follow the directions! ;)

Beer Chops I

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2002
This is wonderful! I have made it several times since I first printed the recipe. I use 3-4 cheaper pork chops, and sometimes add more bouillion cubes. The first time I made it I thought it wouldn't have much flavor, but I was mistaken. Yummy!

Pickle Rollups

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2003
My grandma makes these all the time for family gatherings, although she serves hers as whole pickles, not sliced. (Note: the whole pickle version needs a toothpick to keep the "wrapping" in place.) I've also seen a version of this where horseradish was added into the cream cheese.

Cheese Enchiladas

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2003
YUM! I came online searching for something I could make with what I had on hand, and this was perfect, with only a few minor substitutions. I used flour tortillas instead of corn, and Haberno pepper seasoning instead of Creole. I zapped all the veggies in my food processor, combined with the cheese (two cups, based on other reviews) and added a can of chicken, then stirred all the filling together in a big mixing bowl. With that, I had a delicious, easy to make dinner that I'm sure I'll make again.

Mashed Potato Casserole

Reviewed: May 24, 2003
I just was searching for a way to use up my onion dip... this turned into a wonderful surprise! The flavors are nicely blended. My husband said he liked it better than regular mashed potatoes. I actually followed the recipe as given, and didn't make any changes like I usually do. This one's a keeper... thanks for sharing the recipe!

Baked Sweet Potato Sticks

Reviewed: May 27, 2003
A nice change from french fries. I sliced the potatoes into round slices rather than strips as suggested by other reviewers. I also tried drizzling the oil over top of my potatoes, and used a little too much, so they were rather greasy... but, if I'd have followed the directions, I think they'd have been fine! ;)

Enchilada Casserole II

Reviewed: May 28, 2003
I changed the seasonings to suit our tastes and spice this up a little bit. I used Haberno pepper seasoning, dried minced onion, and Hot Shot (red/black pepper) in place of the chili powder & cumin. I also added a can of southwestern corn with diced peppers, based on other reviews. Overall, this was a quick and easy meal that I'll be making again!
