Old Fashioned Onion Rings

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2010
These were really good. I used panko bread crumbs and these onion rings were very crispy and light. They didn't seem very greasy like most other onion rings I have tried. Besides being a little bland, overall my family and I did like them. Next time I will probably add some cayenne and paprika to the batter.

Dutch Apple Cake

Reviewed: May 21, 2010
I thought this cake was really good. It is very moist. I added chopped apples and cinnamon and little bit of cloves to the batter and used brown sugar, instead of white. I also baked it in a bundt pan with thin slices of apples at the bottom of the pan. It turned out great!

Gera's Amish Funny Cake

Reviewed: May 1, 2010
This was ok. I put the sauce on the top of the cake before baking and then it ended up at the bottom, on top of the crust but under the cooked cake. I'm thinking that is how it is supposed to be done as it does flip if you do it that way. Anyway, I didn't mind it but no one else in my family seemed to enjoy it.

BBQ Chicken Calzones

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2010
This was great! Everyone in my family loved it. Rather than use refrigerated pizza dough, I made the Bread machine pizza dough from this site and it was delicious. I also used a rotessire chicken from the store and added it to the crockpot with the other ingredients. I added the bacon right before I assembled the calzones and put them in the oven. They turned out so good.

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2010
I followed the recipe exactly and they turned out fantastic! Not too flat, not too puffy.. just right. I also like that they are crispy around the edges and soft in the middle.

Blueberry Crisp II

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
This is delicious! I doubled the recipe and used half brown sugar (because I like the richness of it). I also only had miracle whip but it still turned out and you can't even taste it. Like someone else said, I also dusted the blueberries with cornstarch and would definitely recommend doing that. Really good recipe though.. thanks for sharing!

Apple Dip

Reviewed: May 26, 2009
I've been making this recipe for years with the addition of toffee bits. I also use light cream cheese and Splenda Brown Sugar Blend just to cut the calories a bit... it tastes delicious and you can't even tell a difference.

Anna's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
These are really good. I did reduce the temperature and baked at 325 degree's. They were chewy in the middle and crispy around the edges. They baked perfectly.

Fluffy Whole Wheat Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2008
I made these today to go with my turkey soup. They were very good. I didn't have whole wheat flour, so I used white flour and I also used shortening, rather than butter/margarine. These were tasty.

Zucchini Bread II

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2008
This was delicious. I thought it had just the right amount of sweetness to it and was very moist. I didn't do anything different, other than use melted margarine in replace of the oil and added some ground flax seed, just for the nutritional value of it (can't even taste it). Very good recipe and I will definitely make again.

Guacamole

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2008
This recipe is fantastic and I didn't find it bland at all. I used just a little more lime juice than the recipe called for and rather than cayenne pepper, I added a splash of hot sauce. I'm not a big cilantro fan but I did use it (fresh) and it definitely adds huge flavour to this recipe and it tasted quite delicious. I thought it was a better guac than restuarant versions I have tried. I loved it.

Surprise Banana Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2007
This is more like a banana bread but I still found it quite good and not too sweet with good banana flavor. I didn't put a frosting on it and it was quite good on its own but I do think it would taste great with a buttercream or cream cheese frosting.
