I grew up in in a house where good food and meals were as routine as taking out the trash. Now thaI'm living on my own I had to learn how to duplicate the wonderful meals I had growing up. Watch out Mom, you're not the only cook in the kitchen anymore!! = )

I'll try anything TWICE, absoloutley every recipie has a little room for your own personal tweak ~! That's what makes it so fun to cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving is better than Christmas in my house, EVERYONE gets into the mix to help out and when we sit down to eat it takes hours! Is it November yet?
My cooking triumphs
The first Meatloaf I ever made, I thought my boyfriend's eyes were going to fall out of his head he was so happy. I know men will eat just about anything, but it was really good and his reaction made it that much better.
My cooking tragedies
oh geeze, all I have to say is..ya' know those handy recipes on the back of soup cans? well: mushroom soup,chicken,yeah that's it. It was gross, I am no longer so timid w/ my seasoning.

Bacon Gravy for Biscuits
I pretty much doubled the amount of everything, used 7 slices of thick cut bacon. It was a little thick so I added about half a cup of Pepperidge Farm Chicken Gravy (had it in the fridge) more milk as needed. Also, lots of black pepper and onion powder, about a few pinches of seasoned salt. Good over Bisquick Bisquits and left over fried chicken, server with steamemed peas.

Mexican Style Shredded Pork
Couple tips....brown the pork sholder before putting in the slow cooker. About 3-4 mins. on each side should be fine. Tossed in 1/4 cup of CHILI SAUCE, not CHIPOLTE and was just fine with flavor, for room to add hot saice if needed as garnish. Also two cans of diced green chilis and about 2 table spoons of chipolte peppers is just the right amount of heat! Soooo goood!! ENJOY!

Sour Cream Chicken Quiche
Thank goodness I made two!!Sooooo good! We did use almost double the cheese and some very liberal dashes of chili powder but WOW was this great.Also, after layering the cheese/egg, chicken mixture fold them together it the shell... otherwise the egg just kinda sits on top. Pre-baked the pie shells so it wouldn't take so long. We finished up the quiche at 350 for for about thirty mins. Delicious! Will definately make again and again and again!
