Graham Cracker Crust I

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
So easy & much better tasting than the packaged store crusts!! I also made chocolate graham cracker crusts with chocolate graham crackers in place of chocolate cookie crusts. I have also added dry oatmeal to this recipe & it makes the crust look "pretty". Just add a touch more butter if you add the oatmeal. I will not be buying packaged crusts again!!

Real Hummus

Reviewed: May 16, 2011
Perfect receipe! My Egyptian husband makes this the same recipe. I prefer using dry chick peas & soaking them myself- I just think they are more flavorful than the canned variety.

WOW, this is delicious!! I have tried making rice pudding in the past with poor results. This is definitely a keeper! I can't wait to share some with my parents as my Dad is a big fan of good rice pudding. LOVE IT!!

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
I thought this soup was just OK. It just didn't seem to have the flavor I was looking for. I've had other butternut squash soups before and this receipe lacked what I was looking for.

Honey Butter

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
Had some honey that was turning to sugar, so I reheated it and cooled. Added to room temp unsalted butter. YUMMY on pancakes, waffles, toast.

Tasty Tuna Burgers

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
Delicious! As others did, I switched out some of the ingredients. Best to refrigerate before making into patties. I rolled patties in bread crumbs before cooking. Easy & tasty for a different meal option with tuna!! Served up with dill sauce & crispy lettuce on toasted potato buns & sharp Vermont cheddar cheese!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
Fabulous recipe! I've been looking for a moist cornbread recipe and this is it! I took the suggestions of others & reduced sugar to 1/2 cup & used 1/2 yellow, 1/2 white cornmeal. I made mini loaves & baked in the toaster oven. I made the buttermilk w/milk & lemon juice as another suggested (I let it sit 5 minutes to thicken). This will be a recipe I will share with family & friends!! Can't wait to bring some loaves to my parents!!

Banana Banana Bread

Great recipe! It's very easy to prepare. I made lots of mini loaves, mini muffins-some I added walnuts and mini chocolate chips. It has great banana flavor. Finished loaves also freeze very well.

Frosted Banana Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
This was a very moist, flavorful recipe. I made in 2 round 8"cake pans and frosted with a chocolate glaze. I shared this with my parents who also raved over it. While I use canned frosting in an "emergency", this deserves a great homemade frosting or glaze! I will be definitely making this again!!

Ricotta Cookies II

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2010
I made these for my niece's baby shower and they were a huge success! I omitted the almond extract (family member w/nut allergy) used vanilla instead. I decorated them and they really looked so lovely on the dessert table. I would definitely make them again!!

Apple Butter I

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2010
No need to purchase apple butter any more! This was well worth the time and effort. I did find that it was too sweet and overly spicy for my personal taste, so I cooked and masked more plain apples and added during the cooking process. I didn't not add any salt either. I stored my batch in jelly jars for sharing with family. I'm tempted to get more apples and make a 2nd batch. House smelled so great while it was cooking too!

Simple Cauliflower Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
This is a very tasty soup and quite easy to make. I too, altered the recipe, using chicken broth, added some sauteed chopped celery and also grated carrots for color. I mashed some of the cauliflower, but that was just personal preference. You could add other ingredients to this recipe and it would be delicious too! Great recipe!
