Kristen's Bacon Ranch Potato Salad

I fixed this with some other salads for a meeting. Several asked for this recipe who usually don't like potato salad - I don't usually like potato salad, but this one was great. Oh, and I served the bacon on the side so that my vegetarian guests could enjoy it too. I also used already cooked bacon and save time, money and mess!

Eat Michigan Salad

So, I used to live in MI and now am back in WA. My family ALWAYS asks me to bring the salad for the holiday meals so I always look at Allrecipes.com to find something different and yummy. This was it this year! As a matter of fact, my large family pronounced this the permanent Christmas salad. They all loved it! Thanks for being rivals with the Wolverines Saveur631, or I probably wouldn't have looked twice at a "Buckeye Salad"!

Awesome Summer Watermelon Salad

Mom's Chocolate Chip Meringues

My mom always made meringue cookies when I was a kid...these worked great to make little ghosts for our Halloween party. I left out the choc. chips and just used them for eyes. Very cute and yummy, too.

Butterscotch Squares

I made this last Halloween and have had several requests/expectations that it will be at our party this year. The one thing I did last year to help it stick all together better was melt some semi-sweet choc. chips and drizzle and spead it over the top. It added a wonderful something extra. So, so rich and yummy. If you like butterscotch, you'll love these!

Pea 'n' Crab Pasta Salad

My mother-in-law makes a pea and crab salad w/mayo that I love, but I think this one is even better! I made a triple batch for a party and I barely had enough left for lunch the next day. I also added black olives...next time I'll try green. And I used imitation crab meat which worked really well (can't afford dungeness). Yum Yum!

Pumpkin Turkey Chili

I really loved this chili! It tasted just like other chilis but with this neat undercurrent of the pumpkin flavor. I don't like green peppers so I just used yellow and orange, I added more tomatoes, added corn, added black beans. I could still taste everything...very fresh flavor. I'll make this again for my brother who is a real "soup nazi" and didn't think the pumpkin would work. We'll show him!

Smoked Salmon Chowder

The only thing I had to do different was add dried parsley (forgot to buy fresh) and used vegetable stock (that's what I had) and used fat free 1/2 & 1/2 instead of milk. OMG! My whole family LOVED it! There were leftovers, but my hubby and sons took care of that the next day! Trust me! Try this! If you like any kind of seafood chowder, you will love this. I think the lemon and wine really made the difference! I'm going to have to make this for a dinner party soon! It was that impressive!

Shredded Brussels Sprouts

We've made this a few times now. I don't care for brussel sprouts but my husband loves them. I've finally found a recipe that we both LOVE with brussel sprouts! Thank you! It's a special treat for us. BTW Trader Joe's has brussel sprouts already shredded - save your knuckles ;-)

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Just made this for Christmas dinner. SO good that many people came back for seconds! I followed the recipe exactly (except I doubled it because we had 20 people for dinner) It was delish! Didn't use all of the dressing, but am looking forward to using up the rest for NYE!

Flank Steak with Horseradish Sauce

YUM, YUM, YUM, YUM, YUM! Super easy! Super Yummy. Hubby bought Flank steak on sale, so glad to find something to use on it. I added extra Horseradish to my sauce (2 Tbls). SO Good!!!!

Cheesy Spinach Casserole

This was yummy! I added ground turkey breast, because I live with a bunch of carnivores, and used whole grain thin spaghetti, low fat sour cream and mozzarella because that's what I had in the fridge. Delicious! This will be added to my rotation - or some variation;-)

Curried Butternut Squash and Pear Soup

My company LOVED this! I used a stick blender in the pot -- lots easier than transferring in and out of the blender -- but it didn't cool enough and when I added the 1/2&1/2 it curdled slightly. That's just an FYI. I knew better, but was in too much of a hurry to take a little soup out and blend it with the cream and then add it back to the pot. But boy was it delicious! I'm emailing it off to almost every person that was at my house for dinner last night! Thanks!!

Fabulous Fruit Salad

I used honey Greek yogurt to serve for Christmas...was asked to bring it for Easter. Very, very good. Also used pecans because we have allergies to walnuts. For Easter I'm going to try mandarins instead of nectarines, and grapes added for another texture. Thanks!

Sweet and Spicy Sweet Potatoes

We had it last night with "Marinated Flank Steak w/ Horseradish Sauce" from this site and salad. Very good! Guests asked for recipe. I will make this regularly. Good to use up extra sweet potatoes that I didn't use at Thanksgiving -- plus they're pretty cheap this time of year. Oh, I used yams - sweet potatoes are icky in the NW, no pretty color and not as much flavor as our yams.
