Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2014
I doubled this, I don't think 1 lb will make 8 patties. I made about 6 (LARGE) with 2 lbs. and I doubled everything else. it was wonderful. we will make it again for sure.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2012
this was my first time making Any gingerbread cookies but I knew I wanted a soft cookie. this was PERFECT. Easy to make and cooked just like they said. I did however refrigerate my dough so it would stay harder. rolling these into balls was almost imposible. but I was able to scoop them and form them into a ball. I didn't even have to squish mine down to make them into perfect cookies. I also didn't roll them in sugar, I just sprinkled a little on them after they came out of the oven. I'm so impressed they came out first try. No need to look for another recipe!!

Rhubarb and Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2010
this recipe was awesome. I took others suggestions for cooking and let the strawberries and rhubarb sit for 30 minutes in flour/sugar mix before adding to crust. I also let the pie sit in the oven for 30 minutes after baking it, with the oven off. We cut into it after 4 hours and it was perfect not runny at all!!!THIS IS A KEEPER!!! I will be making this over and over.

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2014
this was fantastic. I made it almost as is excpet I did salt/pepper to taste and used fresh rosemary. I also didn't measure the wine I just poured in the pan to make sure I had it covering the bottom. We all loved it-kids and all!

Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2014
I made this yesterday from a Recipe card that came in a pot holder gift set. Anyways I was looking on allrecipes to see how it compared and the same recipe is there verbatim . It's so good and easy you have to try it!!! like some of the reviewers said I used 2 14 oz cans of sweetened condensed milk-which is about 2 1/2 cups measured out (not over 3 cups like it should be) but my pie turned out perfect. I also used 3/4 cup key-west lime juice instead of key limes. it was great!!! I baked mine for about 10-11 min and never saw the bubbles it was talking about but took it out and it set up really nicely we were able to dig into it after dinner even though I made it just before!!!

Best Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2014
good bones, but I had to tweek it which is why I only rated it 3 stars. The way it's written it would have been too dry for my taste. I upped the sauce content to 1 can cream of mushroom, 1 can cream of celery and 1 small container of sour cream and also added about 1 cup of milk. I also don't like onions raw so I cooked-sautee'd them with some minced garlic, prior to adding them in. I also don't like mushrooms so I omitted them. I also added Salt and Pepper to taste. like I said this recipe was a great starting point for me to customize for my taste. I thought this recipe would be really good with kielbasa or ham instead of tuna, as well!

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2012
I 1/2 this recipe and it made just over 12 cupcakes. AND THEY WERE WONDERFUL!! I don't even care for carrot cake! I also made the frosting but omitted the butter and just did 4 oz cream cheese, vanilla, and powdered sugar. it was great! sprinkled with a dash of cinnamon. they were very pretty. Thank you for the great recipe
