About this Cook
I'm a high school librarian with a passion for cook books and cooking. Nothing makes me happier than when people enjoy what I cook for them.
My favorite things to cook
Anything Italian or Mexican, because I am 100% Irish and was born into no cooking heritage!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year on a Sunday after Thanksgiving my sister and I along with all of my daughters and nieces spend the day making appetizers and sweets for the holidays. I host Christmas Eve and use our bounty then. We divide the rest among the families and we lovingly call it Party in a Box as they leave.
My cooking triumphs
Cloning, after countless tries the burritos from our favorite, now closed down Mexican restaurant.
My cooking tragedies
My first attempt at a turkey, really just a breast. I put the hot pan on the edge of the counter, it hit the floor and so did I as I slid across the kitchen when by bare foot hit that grease!

Aunt Blanche's Blueberry Muffins
I'm giving these 5 stars even though I didn't taste them. I left them to cool and went to run errands. I came home to an empty plate! Will make again.

Peach Cobbler Dump Cake I
My daughter made this and I thought it was good. I made just a couple of small changes. First I sprinkled some cinnamon right over the peaches before adding the cake mix. Next, instead of a yellow mix, I used a butter pecan mix - yum. I also thought spice cake would work well too. Anything this easy, quick and tasty is a keeper!

Armenian Rice Pilaf
This pilaf was delicious just as written. There are lots of additions you could make by adding vegetables or chopped chicken but I love the ease and simplicity of it just the way it is. My only question is serving size. I halved the recipe and it was enough for at least 6 servings. If you make the full recipe, you can serve 12 more people. Thanks siliblessings!
