Me in Rome
About this Cook
I moved to the San Diego area about 6 years ago from Madison, WI. It was a big move for me and ended up changing my life. I got a great job, met some great friends and was introduced to an amazing guy that is now my husband. Before San Diego I had never had Indian or Thai food, an avocado or a fish taco; now I couldn't live without any of the above.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook simple and quick meals. I am not quite up to the gourmet level yet. I am getting better though and the more I entertain and cook for my husband, the more adventurous I am getting.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mom is an amazing cook and I should have spent more time in the kitchen. Every holiday was special in it's own way at our house; but I can remember Oyster Stew was a Christmas tradition, but I was never brave enough to try it.
My cooking triumphs
I've made a couple of really great 4 or 5 course meals for my husband that completely turned out from appetizer to dessert!
My cooking tragedies
I made this one dinner once for me and my husband that had wine in it and for some reason it was all we could taste. I think we had a buzz from our dinner!

Alfredo Sauce
I thought the taste was excellent. I used dried parsley flakes and minced garlic. It coated the noodles very nicely.

Double Tomato Bruschetta
I thought this was very yummy. The sun dried tomatoes really add that extra something! I used dried basil and it was still good and I didn't toast my bread before putting the stuff on top.

Barbie's Tuna Salad
I did not care for this recipe; the flavor was so overwhelming that I couldn't even taste the tuna when all was said and done.
