Caribbean Sweet Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2014
I rate it 4 only because it needed a little more kick in spicing. Maybe more lime? More caribbean flavoring? It was an interesting recipe to eat and make and it looked beautiful on the table with our other caribbean dishes. Will repeat if we go with a repeat caribbean theme!

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2014
I added more macaroni (minus the optional carrots) otherwise kept to the exact recipe and it was a huge hit! I had to make another batch soon after since it was gobbled up with no leftovers at a family function. Is a keeper! Perfect touch of sweetness although not too sweet. I used 5 cups of macaroni and maybe that's why it wasn't TOO sweet, but I'm gonna keep this one around!

Risotto with Truffle and Parmesan

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2013
I also did exactly as the receipe called for, except I used rice instead of risotto. Still delicious! Still tender! Still a keeper! Loved it!

Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
This is PERFECT! My father is a baker and making the perfect crust can be difficult if you don't know the tricks. I advise watching the video on how to make a crust on this site and then use this receipt. The dough was easy to mold and use and came out super tasty! Thank you Ruth and Grandma!

Baked Kale Chips

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2011
OMG! I was soooo skeptical, no way it's like a chip I thought. Well I was wrong. the timing is the most important thing. Making sure they're as dried as possible before baking. My kids didn't go for them, but I loved them! I used Pam butter spray, NoSalt, and garlic powder. yum

Thai Peanut Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2011
My stars should be higher! Only reason I gave it a 4 was because it was too much soy for my taste. I also did as another reviewer and substituted may for coconut milk. Redid another batch w/ half the soy sauce and doubled the (coconut for mayo) mixed both batches (too salty one) w/ remade one... awesome! I used it as a topping to rice w. veggies AND as a dipping sauce w/ raw veggies. I loved this and will be doing it again. It was so easy to make. The longer its refrigerated the better

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2011
Came out perfect! no altering of the receipe. They went fast. Even people who don't usually eat peanut butter cookies said that they liked them! I didn't have the mini's so I quartered a regular peanut butter cup. freezing the candy or cooling the cookies in the refrigerator prevented melting.

Original Irish Cream

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2011
I did as the past reviewers said and made 2 changes: decreased the whiskey to 1 cup and (& I'm a hearty drinker) and used half and half instead of cream. The heavy cream made it too thick! More like an egg nog. I had 5 people try both w/ half and half and heavy cream... all liked the half and half better.(still thick enough)... the extra day in the fridge really melded the flavors!

made exactly as written. Easier than I expected and it came out great. I would've liked a little more flavor, but my kids gobbled them!

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2010
This was fast and easy! but it needed a little more kick to it. The family was pleasantly surprised with this receipe since we are not big rice eaters. I want to do this again.

Sweet Green Bean Bundles

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2010
I used fresh green beans and pan fried them before wrapping in bacon. Although I loved them, my husband said it took away the "greenbean taste". They were crispy on the inside, but a little wilted looking on the out. I'd do it again just for cool presentation

Cinnamon Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
I loved this receipe! My tweaks were to forgo the molasses. Mine were a little too cinnamony, but not much. I put a little more cinnamon (since I nixed the molasses), but next time I'll just stick w/ the recommended cinnamon amt. I also added walnuts and chocolate, and it did not alter the test of the cinnamon cookie underneath! Loved it

Cheesy Eggplant Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2008
As the past reviews noted I added stewed tomatoes to the receipe. Also, I would add more Italian seasoning & cheese (a little too bland for my taste). But otherwise, I would make this again for vegetarians at a dinner. I made it an hour before I cooked it and it made dinner so much easier!
