Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies III

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2010
OMG! If I could give these 10 plus stars, I would! Holy Cow they are SOOOO good! I love(d) the girl scout cookie version of these but these have surpassed those, ten times over. When I gave one to my husband to try his eyes got all big and he said, "MMMMMM" and kept eating them! I don't think he came up for air until almost all the cookies were gone. LOL. I will be making these often I think ( ;

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
Hmm, my husband & I didn't care for these. The texture was sort of odd? more cake like then cookie. The taste was pretty good but the icing was way too sweet. It made my teeth hurt. Maybe I will try them again but make a cream cheese icing instead.

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
Super Duper tasty! better then any caramel corn I've had before, including Cracker Jacks! sorry CJ. It is a bit time consuming but worth the effort. I have popped my own popcorn before but tonight I just made a batch and used Trader Joe's popcorn in the bag. Due to time constraints. It took 2 1/2 bags of popcorn. I always use butter and add a bit more peanuts then called for. I am making this for halloween and giving out to my inlaws and nephew. This is the perfect snack to have around the house!

Sweet Potato Pie I

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
I made this exactly as written. It had great taste but mine never set?! I cooked it for an hour and 15 mins and it was still jiggly when I pulled it out. What gives? I know how to bake a pie and never had this happen before. Weird. I will try it again. Maybe I beat it too much? either way, taste was really good. My southern bred gramma & mom would have loved it

Best Cream Of Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2010
Really tasty soup. I had fresh broccoli I needed to use up so this seemed like the perfect recipe for that. I added garlic powder and a bit of garlic salt for more flavor and added 1 1/2 cups of grated cheddar cheese. Also went fattening the whole way and used 1 cup of 1/2 and 1/2 and 1 cup of milk. Made it that much better! It came out so rich & creamy.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2010
These are pretty good. They seemed a bit chalky to me and I think that was the pudding. Also, 8 minutes, as some reviewers were suggesting, was not enough time. I cooked mine the full 10-12 mins. At 8 mins they weren't even cooked all the way through. I think I will stick to my old standby, Tollhouse. thanks tho

Raspberry Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
This was pretty good. I had to add more sugar tho. wasn't sweet enough. But that could have been my raspberries.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2010
This is really good! I had leftover rotisserie chicken that I used. I also thought the sauce seemed a bit bland so I added garlic powder, a tad of curry and sage. I didn't double the sauce and it was perfect! My husband loved it! I will definitely make again.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2010
Ehh, these were so so for us. My husband, who will eat pretty much anything and will make it known when he likes something, didn't say much while eating these. I asked him what he thought and he said they were okay. Sorta a let down because these take some time to make. Plus I made a ton of chops I got from costco. We also had a ton leftoever. I loved the smell while cooking but the flavor didn't live up to the aroma. I agree with some that the mushroom soup was the culprit. I think if I make them again, I will add my own twist to them.

Peach Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2010
This had a good taste but it was super duper runny. I should have followed other's advice and added flour. I also didn't put the lattice top but added brown sugar & cinnamon to the top with the sugar/butter/flour mixture. Next time I will definitely add flour to the filling.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2010
This was good but a bit too sweet. I am used to my mom's zucchini bread I guess. Also my batter came out soooo thick! I have to agree with other reviewers, this is a cake, not a bread.

Buster Bar Ice Cream Dessert

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
Very tasty. The crust is a tad too thick tho. So next time I make it I will use less. I also agree that Spanish peanuts make a big difference. I topped my crust with caramel topping. All in all it was super duper tasty!

Grilled Chipotle Marinated Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2010
Sorry, guess we are the minority here but we didn't care for this recipe. Had too much of a vinegar taste for us. Used it with skinless boneless thighs and marinated over night. Maybe it would have been better with skin on chicken, but as is and on skinless it didn't rock our world.

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2010
This recipe did not work for us, at all. The temp didn't stay steady nor did it climb, it dropped! I guess if we wanted steak tartare, then it would have been perfect. I had to re-cook the entire thing which resulted in a piece of shoe leather. I know how to cook, and this isn't the cooks error it's the recipes.

Hot Italian Giardiniera

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2010
This was pretty good. I made it for my Chicago born & raised husband & father in law who love this stuff topped on hot Italian beef sandwiches. It's not really what they top on Chicago beefs in Chicago, but close. My husband & I agree that to be authentic use Serrano chilis, not Jalapenos and don't use cauliflower. So I omitted the cauliflower and next time will use serrano chili. It also needs a tad of sweet. So I think I will use sweet cherry peppers next time too. All in all it was tasty and satisfied their craving for their Italian beefs. Makes a ton of it, so be warned!

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2010
Knock your socks off good. Or at least we thought so! I did add vanilla, cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg to the apples. And only used 6 apples. Followed the rest to a T. Make sure to put in a deep dish apple pie crust, otherwise it overflows. Absolutely sinful heated up with vanilla ice cream!

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
This salad has WAY too much sugar in it. I should have followed other's suggestions and cut back on it. But I decided to be fair and follow the recipe to a T. It was horrible. I even added more mayo to cut the sugar down and it was still inedible. I ended up throwing the entire bowl away. The dressing in this just isn't right. I will keep to my gramma's macaroni salad recipe.

Butterscotch Sauce II

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2010
This is good. The best in the world? Hmm, don't know about that. It's easy to make tho. I also made a hot fudge topping from this site and made sundaes. WOW, they were good and definitely hit the sweet tooth spot!

Hot Fudge Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2010
This was pretty good. I didn't have any semi-sweet squares so I used semi-sweet chocolate chips. Tasted sort of like a liquified brownie. lol. It did get gummy on my ice cream tho. I heated it before serving on vanilla ice cream. Also made the butterscotch topping from this site and paired it w/this recipe and made sundaes. YUM
