About this Cook
I live in a small coastal town located in Northern California with my hubby and 3 dogs. I love to cook and will try anything once. My husband enjoys being my guinea pig and sampling new recipes for me. My dream was to always become a chef or own my own bistro. Haven't gotten there yet, but there is still time! I enjoy hosting parties and get-togethers for family and friends.
My favorite things to cook
I pretty much love to cook anything. Seems the more difficult, the greater the challenge, the more I like it. I enjoy cooking ethnic foods; especially Thai, Indian & Greek. Baking is relaxing to me and one of my favorite things to do on a cold and dreary day.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Southern cooking styles handed down by my mother and grandmother. Comfort foods my mom used to make. Hosting big traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners with lots of family like my mom & gramma used to do. Now that they have both passed on, I try and keep that cherished family tradition going.
My cooking triumphs
I make a Peanut Butter Chocolate cream cheese cake that is heavenly! This past Thanksgiving was a challenge since I cooked for over 15 people, but it all came out perfect and tasty and I got great compliments!
My cooking tragedies
Pork chops! I try and try and still can't get them right!

Tomatillo Salsa Verde
I am a freak over "green sauce" tomatillo verde. I love it. This is really good and very authentic tasting. I did add more onion and more cilantro. Cooked for 15 mins and then pureed in my food processor. I had mine with tortilla chips but it is also really good over tacos, enchiladas and carne asada. YUM!

Frozen Bananas
These are so tasty! Reminds me of the frozen bananas you got at the fair as a kid. Made these with a ton of bananas we had on hand and I keep them in the freezer for quick snacks/or dessert time on warm days. I sometimes add shredded toasted coconut, chopped up reese's peanut butter cup or even drizzle white chocolate on them. Anyway you make them, they are outstanding! my husband and nephew love them!

BBQ Chicken Pizza I
Made this tonight and my husband said it's better than CPK's BBQ chicken pizza. I added Italian seasonings to my crust dough, sprinkled minced garlic over the top and a bit of parmesan cheese. Heated up a cut up rotiesserie chicken with some Trader Joe's BBQ sauce. I omitted the molasses, honey, etc. Chopped up extra cilantro. Topped with the smoked gouda and a sprinkling of red pepper flakes. Have to say it was the bomb pizza. I honestly do think it's better than CPK! Definitely a keeper and according to my husband, I will be making this often!
