About this Cook
I was born in Chillicothe, Ohio the youngest of five children.Been happily married for 25 years and have a daughter and son who my world revolves around along with my husband Ken.We love to travel and go biking together as a family.I taught my kids how to cook, sew,do household chores and it really helps kids to grow up to be someone who this world is looking for to keep family traditions alive. If anyone has a question about cooking or baking you can count on me and my family for answers.
My favorite things to cook
My family loves to bake and cook a variety of things from chicken, pork, beef dishes to cakes, pies, cookies, fruit tarts, etc.I love to bake "Orange Dreamsicle Manadarin Orange Cake", "Pork Chops with Apples and Stuffing", and hundreds of other recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother always loved to cook and bake things for us growing up over the years and she was from a family of 11 children. My late father was from a family of 11 children too. Both my parents were the youngest child. My mother loved to make homemade potato soup, old fashioned bologna salad, homemade soups, chicken & noodles, homemade fudge etc.
My cooking triumphs
I've had great luck making and decorating with fruit tarts,my favorite things to bake for church gatherings is my own version of "Orange Dreamsicle Mandarin Orange Cake","Hummingbird Cake" and pasta dishes and homemade breads. My kids and husband know if there is a good recipe for something we see out of a cookbook or magazine I will be in the kitchen making it for my family.
My cooking tragedies
Over the years I have had some things not turn out as well as other times like when I tried making a pineapple upside down cake and added to much pineapple juice and it never got completely baked and that was a cake that I was baking for a favorite Aunt of mine and ended up baking another kind of cake for her birthday instead. My husband has eaten a lot of burnt fish and tater tots in the first years we were married but I sure have improved now over the years with my husband Ken to help.

Mom's Shepherd's Pie
I was looking for a good recipe for "Shepherd's Pie" and used this one recipe for a basis of my own dish. We added a layer of carrots and sweet potatoes and shredded cheese on top. It was delicious.

I added white meat cooked chicken breast to my recipe and instead of adding cream of mushroom soup I used a can of cream of chicken. Was really a great recipe.
