Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
These are good cookies and the batch made 56 cookies. I did add a bag of Chocolate Chips to the mix and up-ed the oatmeal to 1.5 cups. The peanut butter is barely noticeable. Maybe add a bit more?

Baked French Fries II

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
They did taste good, it's just never the same without a deep fryer. They were more healthy, and a good flavor. I forgot the salt and I think that might have made the difference.

Banana Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
Seems like there is just that over the top thing missing (could be the rasins? nuts?) Made about 20 regular size muffins, they were still really good. My 2 year old loves them.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
This is SO great! Didn't use the white pepper and it was only one smaller chicken (2.5 Kg) so it only took about 3 hours and it was perfect...FALLING off the bone! Amazing! (Plus it was my first time ever cooking a whole chicken!)

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
Tasted great, (my oven is a piece of junk though and burned the top a bit). Made them in the 9x11 dish. Use the other review for the cream cheese icing and it was great. Might pour a bit of melted butter w/ sugar over top next time to make more "gooey". Otherwise, it really did take about 90 min. maybe a bit more.

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
This is a GREAT pie. For the first time we tried the graham cracker crust (homemade from a recipe here) and it was so good, not something you put up with like a pie crust. It melded with the filling and was so moist! We are making this again for Thanksgiving! (Made with homemade puree, turned out great!)

Italian Bread Bowls

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
I think it was user error, I made these, they tasted fine. I put oregano and garlic pwdr on top and let them rise in the oven with the steaming water. It was fairly time consuming but they turned out to be more like Frisbees. I was pretty disappointed.

Italian Creme Layer Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
This was very moist, very tasty. I added almond extract to the cake and the icing. It turned out to be a 3 layer cake and everyone I live with loved it!

Texas Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
This would be a great icing for rice crispy treats or brownies...I tried to use it on a cake and it was a bit difficult to work with. I had to reheat it slowly to get it to spread and it did not "stick" to the cake very well. Great flavor though and fairly easy to make.

Cream of Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
A great starter soup, not sure if I could just sit and eat a large bowl for a meal but very tasty! I didn't try the toast but will next time. I doubled the cinn. and ginger, also added a pinch of nutmeg, 2T of brown sugar and 1/8t of garlic pwder. This was very quick and a great fall soup

Turkey Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
Great taste and fairly easy. My husband gives it 4.5 stars, he would like more crust so thinks we should make it into individual small dishes. I doubled the sauce and then I thought there weren't enough "insides" and it was a bit runny. I would go with double both or do 1.5x the sauce if following the original recipe. I used chix stock to cook the vegis and chix. I added minced garlic to the onions (which I increased to 3/4 a cup) and added potatoes to the mix. I also pre-baked my bottom crust for just 5 min. and cooked it all at 375 deg for about 40 min. If I had one of those metal crust covers I would have put it on toward the end, the edge was getting fairly dark.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
My family really liked this soup, it wasn't "too cheesy" like some of them can be. I think it's because we only used 1 lb. of processed cheese and about a half cup more of shredded cheddar to melt in. I took the advice of others and used 3 cans of chicken broth in the soup and 1 cup broth to mix with the starch. I also doubled the Broccoli and I think it could have used even more! Great winter soup!

Fruit Kuchen

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
Great flavor. I used only 1.5 cups plumbs and 2.5 cups of apples (without skin) and it was really moist. Plenty of sugar, I was worried since sometimes desserts in that Austria/Germany area can lack in sweetness. Thanks!

Banana Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
I might try using 1/2 wheat 1/2 white flour next time. I added both milk and oil to try and get the batter a bit thinner. I also used muffin cup liners and 1/4 of the muffin sticks to them. I guess they were OK but not a fav for sure.

Everyone at our dinner party decided that I could skip the dinner and just bring out more of this dip with apples. A HUGE hit!

This had really good flavor, it was my fault for trying to make it ahead, it really is best served right away! We reheated in oven and was a tiny dry.

I think it was the "generic" white type of mushrooms that I used but I don't think I'd make this again.

One Egg Lemon Pound Cake

This was fairly dry for us. We did the two different glazes that the first comment suggested and it added quite a bit of flavor. We are going to try another recipe out....
