Sesame Shrimp Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
I'm not sure why but we didn't think this had a ton of taste. It was fairly easy and quick which was nice. I followed directions except for sauted in vegi oil and added the sesame oil later (1t). I might try it again though. Good use of shrimp

Royal Icing I

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
Great recipe for cookie decorating. I did need almost 6 cups of powdered sugar to make it the right consistency for a piping bag. Tasted great, but do make sure to cover it between uses/colors so it doesn't harden.

Avocado, Tomato and Mango Salsa

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
My husband gave this a 4 but I think it was our fault. No cilantro here in Austria that we could find...would have really made the salsa great!

Surprise Banana Cake

Added the 1t baking powder that another suggested and it was a great cake, not like bread at all. loved the amount of nuts in it too, not too much.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
Followed the recipe exactly but used Almond extract instead of vanilla...I always do and love it more. Froze some of the dough, haven't worked with it yet though. Half the dough made 40ish cookies

Blue Cheese Dip II

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
Great flavor, but use STRONG tasting blue cheese. Mine might have been too cheap, the flavor didn't come out enough even 24 hours in the fridge.

Good, really good, esp if made the day before. I used 3 slices of real bacon, I think I'd use more next time. Best with Chips.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
Great tasting and great for detailed decorating if you have the time. Takes a bit to get it all down as far as how runny. I also wasn't sure if it would work in a piping bag and no one had mentioned it but it does if it's not as runny. Works well actually. I made some a bit more runny and painted that on the cookies then let them dry completely. Make the thicker stuff and was able to pipe on top of the dried icing and it stuck great. Just leave time for figuring it out.

Pumpkin Cheesecake II

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
This was excellent! I cooked it for 52 Min. and unfortunately the cake looked totally done but wasn't in the middle. Still great flavor in the crust with the pecans and made the pecan maple sauce listed...amazing! DO NOT MAKE THIS WITHOUT that sauce!

Ham and Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
Really great flavor, added 3 minced garlic cloves to the vegi's. Would be MUCH better with a noodle vs. lasagna noodles, penne or something!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
Good recipe, very very soft when they come out, the next day they were a bit too crunchy for me, I put some bread in the Tupperware and it helped out some. The key is a mix of butter and shortening!

With some changes (in my notes) this is a great flavor, and I've never tried to make enchiladas before.

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Made this in a spring form pan with extra cream cheese and added sour cream. Read the reviews before making, I wanted more of a cheesecake than a pie and it was great!! Everyone LOVED it.

It would be a good cookie I think with Tea. But I don't like tea...was trying to use up some Poppy seeds and this sounded interesting. They were OK, nothing to write home about.

I don't know if I'll ever use a packet again, not that we ever loved them. My husband also loves this, LOTS of flavor, watch the red pepper if you don't like heat!
